Cosmic Era 80, a new era of peace has begun, several years have passed since nearly a decade of on and off war. However, growing tensions are mounting in the PLANTS, on the brink of civil war Z.A.F.T. is bracing itself for yet another war....but this time...with itself..new mobile suits are being tested..as if the worst has already come to be realized.
PHASE 01: A SHATTERED UNITY
A military installation in the Fortuna PLANT, a newly constructed PLANT for the development of advance technologies. The installation was quite busy with hurried soldiers and engineers. The situation was quite grim, many monitors showed the news conferences above, heavy politics only adding to the ongoing conflict between the warring brethen.
One of the engineer jumped into a jeep with another engineer who was female, these two seemed to be exhausted. The male complained "Aw man, I miss the days when we were fighting the Earth Forces instead of our kind." He relaxed and yawned as the woman raised her eyebrow and responded "What are you talking about? You were 13 years old Abiki!". The young man named Abiki almost fell out of the jeep "Gawh, so what!? You think you know everything, Ally. " Abiki put the jeep in drive and got out of the way as ZAKU mobile suit passed by and began it's way into several space cruisers. One of the space cruisers looked especially farmilar, the XHM-BB22 The Vanity. It was a ship that was built with the combined efforts of the Orb Union's Morgenrate and certain ZAFT programs. The ship looked like that off a longated Arch Angel with a bit of the Minerva. Onboard...
The Captain removed her cap and placed it upon her desk and looked to her at her co-captain. "This is not quite the way I expected things to go. This is one of many things I never thought I would have to expierence. Damnit..." She clenched her fist. The man adjusted his cap and nodded at his superior, he had long black hair the spun around in different curls, his eyes seemed green, that is, he didn't seem like he fit his rank but the way he spoke said otherwise "There's reasons for everything, ma'am..I believe it's what we believe is right in our hearts what will determine our next move." He offered a smile, but it was not allowed to go without interruption, the Captain responded with spite "No, we will do as orders dictate...There's no renegades upon this ship, you hear me Commander Joshua?" Joshua raised his hand to his forehead, saluting his superior before excusing himself then he went for the hallway, where he passed the new ZAFT recruit, Derek Wright, who he gave a nod to.
Derek Wright, the new Z.A.F.T. recruit, he was young at age, appearing to be about 15 or 16. This young man is quickly climbing the mobile suit ranks, which aroused his comrades curiosity as the young man never seem to talk much other when given orders. Derek walked into the Captain's Quarters and quickly saluted "You wanted to see me, ma'am?" The Captain looked up and observed the boy. "Hmm, seems the higher ups have much plans for you." She looked down and slid a folder over to Derek. Derek picked up the file and looked at it's insides and his eyes widened. "But these are our.....new prototypes.." The Captain guaged his reaction and smiled "They were ours...now they belong to Neo Z.A.F.T. however, the Order of Vanity has issued you a new mobile suit to help us in this civil war.." Derek looked surprised, he had never piloted anything but his ZAKU Phantom but he quickly responded "Uh, yes ma'am!" He thumbed through the files catching his new mobile suit. "Gun..dam..?"
After a brief walk, the Captain and Derek Wright end up in the Vanity's ship hangar. The Captain looked up at the large mobile suit "Gundams are the weapon of the future, due to their unwielding power..We've been able to tip things in our favor for a long time now. Absolute power is what makes victories. You are assigned to this ship and you will pilot this new Gundam...the ZGMF-X666 Kratos Gundam."

Key Terms:
Z.A.F.T.: The Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty, formed in space fighting for independence from the trade restrictions set upon them by the Earth Alliance Forces, this would eventually ignite wars in both Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny.
COORDINATOR: All of ZAFT's ranks are made of this genetically altered human. Coordinators have the ability to do more as their minds have been incredibly advanced. However, this is the reason for the warring decade. The conflict between Coordinators and Naturals. Many of those believe genetically altering one's self is against what god intended. There are radicals who take matters in their own hands, this group is called BLUE COSMOS and they are responsible for the assassination of many top Coordinators.
G.U.N.D.A.M.: Generation Unrestricted Nuclear Drive Assault Module
A legendary Mobile Suit, known through the warring period of the last decade for being the mobile suit to turn the tides, most noteable of these Gundams was the Freedom Gundam. That of which's pilot was Kira Yamato.
ORB UNION: The neutral nation that has been rebuilt from the ground up twice in the events of Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny. Their techology is byfar greater than ZAFT and the Earth Atlantic and Eurasia Forces. The ORB manufactuer Morgenrate is responsible for the Gundam's creation. The first along the line was the GATX series, which housed Strike, Aegis, Buster, Duel and the Blitz.
ZAFT - ORDER OF THE VANITY*: The break way faction of the newly formed Neo ZAFT, this group disagrees with the continuing hatred that the Neo ZAFT continues to show towards Naturals. They believe in order for Coordinators to continue on, unity must be formed...However, even some in these ranks have their doubts about that future.
NEO ZAFT*: This newly reformed ZAFT is an aggressive police force throughout the galaxy. Claiming it's independence in space, Neo ZAFT has placed tough and harsh securities in the space around the Earth. The Earth Space Forces are still in ruins due to the last warring decade allowing Neo ZAFT to take certain liberties in space.
PLANTs: Sandglass-like Colonies in which Coordinators live in space. This is the home of Z.A.F.T. There are about 100 Colonies in the PLANTs, each capable of housing millions of people, in this case Coordinators.
Known Characters:
Derek Wright*: A Coordinator Z.A.F.T. recruit, who quickly is becoming a Mobile Suit ace, but lacks anything less as far as communicating with his peers. However...something seems to be amiss with this recruit's past..
Captain Reina Chenelle*: The captain of the ship Vanity, is a hardass battle commander to the extreme, but she knows what she is doing better than anyone on the ship. Despite seeming cold-hearted, she tries her best to make everything turn out for the best, even if nobody believes it to be true.
Commander Joshua*: His looks do not seem that of his rank, this young man is the co-capain and usually mans and orders the ship ordances. He is always by the Captain's side, offering her sweet advice whenever she seems too cynical about situations.
Abiki*: An Engineer apart of the Vanity battleship, he's quite the idiot in any other situation besides maintaining repairs on the mobile suits.
Ally*: Also an Engineer on the Vanity battleship, her talents are vast, however, secretly she'd rather pilot Mobile suits than repair them. This Coordinator has vast hidden talents as well. Known as Abiki's better half, she keeps him in line..but she also loves him very much. Ally and Abiki are in their newly twenties and are married.

Reina Chenelle, prefering to be called Rein, is the captain of the ship Vanity, is a hardass battle commander to the extreme, but she knows what she is doing better than anyone on the ship. Despite seeming cold-hearted, she tries her best to make everything turn out for the best, even if nobody believes it to be true.
Rein brushed a strand of her dark red hair from her eyes and looked up at the Gundam that she had just assigned to the new recruit. She glances at Derek with a bit of skepticism in her eyes, trying to hide her doubts at least slightly.
"Recruit, tell me. Have you ever seen a Gundam before? What are your experiences with mechs in general? This isn't any normal machine you know," she adds, looking back up at the Kratos Gundam.
Rein brushed a strand of her dark red hair from her eyes and looked up at the Gundam that she had just assigned to the new recruit. She glances at Derek with a bit of skepticism in her eyes, trying to hide her doubts at least slightly.

Derek continued staring at the new mobile suit aptly named Gundam. He slowly turned to his Captain and responded to her question
"Yes ma'am, I have been trained in all sorts of ZAFT issue mobile suits from GINNs to ZAKU Warriors. Uh, however...i've never used one of these. All I know is records of the previous war from the theft of the Freedom and Justice and the Destiny Project." Derek turned to the Gundam again and continued, "I'll do my very best, ma'am."
Cosmic Era 80, tensions are mounting with in the Z.A.F.T. organization, through political talks this situation was predicted to calm down....These initial assessments proved to be false. Neo Z.A.F.T. has declared open war on the Order of the Vanity, declaring them traitors to their own people...

A man sat at his desk and massages the bridge of his nose and sighed, clearly the situation is ascelating out of control "They call us traitors of our people, yet they resemble those anti-coordinator Blue Cosmos bastards.." The man floated across the room in the light gravity of the room and looked out the window where he joins another masked man.
The masked man shakes his head "You are right to say such things, it is clearly a future we will have to deal with now..However, will the Vanity alone be enough? Until we capture more forces..That battleship is the only one that can make an significant impact, I will be joining the Yule team with my Nasca class. Farewell, Chairman." The masked man pushed off the window and headed for an automatic door and exited as the Chairman sighed once again.

"This is bull s**t!" the white haired temper-mental young man shouted, "Traitors to our own people!?" The young man slams his fist into the wall. A dark skinned blonde haired young man also joined him "Now now, we can't help what they say..we did make this decision, Yzak. This will decide ZAFT's future, and i'm sure we'd all agree that creating another mass murder situation like Julius Seven isn't going to end any of this." Dearka clutched his helmet and patted Yzak on the shoulder and Yzak closed his eyes "What the hell ever! We're going to cover the Vanity's launch into space. Level 2 Battle Stations!" He threw out his hand and signaled a grounded order as the crew of the ship under his command rushed to their stations and Dearka pushed off and went for his mobile suit.

Joshua stepped next to Captain Chenelle, who was in her Captain's chair of the Vanity, Joshua spoke "All preparations are complete, all mobile suit pilots are on standby incase of difficulties outside, also i've been informed that the Yule team will be supporting us, ma'am."
Derek put his helmet on and took a zipline up to the Gundam's cockpit and drifted inside and took the pilot's seat. Derek typed at a bullet quick pace on the OS keyboard and begins rewriting the system specifications to his liking so the Gundam would be responsive to his skills as a pilot. Derek took a few slow breaths as he shook off any doubts he had in his mind. After rebooting the O.S. (Operating System) it came up with the acronym "G.U.N.D.A.M."

Abiki and Ally made their way out to clear the hangar area for mobile suit take off. Abiki laughed a bit and looked back at Ally as they drifted in the light gravity corridor of the Vanity and he spoke "Hey, Ally, you think Newbie will survive? Why they give him that big mobile suit anyway? Ally just sighed "You know with that kind of attitude, we're gonna get shot down for sure." Abiki gulped at her response and shook his head, "Nevermind, he'll do well i'm sure!" Abiki gulped, suddenly getting a bit fear stricken. This was Abiki and Ally's first actual battle as engineers.
Joshua looked at the monitors of the outside infront of them and nodded "Everything is a-go Captain, your orders will send us into the start of our new lives." Joshua seemed to be confident, his smile showed so, though he knew the Captain would not respond in kind.
