*Lime green eyes softly traced along the form of his loved on as he sat behind her and nuzzled his chin against her shoulder. She was heavy with cubs, his cubs, cubs that he was going to father, cubs. Kujack was very stressed out, due to Aysha being very stressed out.
She had gotten bigger but Jack wouldn't tell her that. She would have his neck if he said some thing about her weight, he learned form past mistakes. Sitting himself up the purple coated male smiled at her and spoke, doing his best to comfort her.*
"Ayshaaa... are you okay? Do you need any help getting up? Do you want anything at all, can I get you anything?"

Quote: Aysha was stressed, that much was obvious. She was stressed mostly because she didn't believe she was a good mother. Her first son had left her, gone off on his own, and she had blamed that all on herself. It didn't help any that she was having rather heavy mood swings and had a tendency to snap at her mate...
"I'm pregnant, not crippled." Example one.
Realizing that that might have come out a little harsh, she pressed her ears back against her skull and sighed. "I'm sorry Jack. It's just... no, I'm fine. And I'm still full from breakfast. Don't worry about anything... I've done this before."

*Jerking himself back Jack gave her a faint smile as she snapped at him. He knew it wasn't really her talking, right? He hoped it wasn't. Nodding slowly the male sat himself down a few feet from her and sighed deeply.*
"I know I know, I just want you to be happy."
*Kujack spoke softly, moving back to her side with a soft nuzzle.*
"Ger went off to explore, so I will be here all day, just in case you need me.."

Quote: Aysha sighed. Things had gotten so complicated lately. After she had become pregnant, she started to worry like never before. It was most likely her 'failed motherhood' from earlier on in her life, but then again it could have been something else. She had this small worry in the back of her mind that Jack might leave her. He really didn't seem like the type, but from her earlier experiences... she simply couldn't let the feeling go.
Then there was the whole thing with Ger. He seemed distant nowdays, and she felt herself growing farther apart from him. It worried her. She knew that she wasn't his mother, but she still looked after him with Jack all the same.
Coming out of her thoughts, the lioness nodded her head slowly. Jack had said he'd be there for her all day, but would he really? She didn't think that any male, devoted or not, would want to hang around with a moody and pregnant lioness. Especially when that lioness was her.
"Jack..."

“Yes?”
*He asked with a kind smile. Though Jack knew that things would be rocky, he wouldn’t leave her side, he couldn’t. Things seemed to be different with him and Ger, Aysha and the relationship they had formed, but it would get better, it just had to. Jack was going to make sure Aysha felt loved and respected, and he would never leave her, not ever.
He wouldn’t be like that male before him, he would keep his promise to her, always. After the cubs were born Jack knew that he would have to have a long talk with Ger, but until then he did his best to keep the youth contained. Ger had become moody, but that was apart of growing up… right?
Tilting his head to the side Jack smiled and spoke out again.*
“Yes, Aysha?”

Quote: Aysha knew deep down that Jack would never leave her, could never leave her, but she had this paranoia that simply wouldn't leave her alone. It gave her nightmares and stressed her out to the max, which probably wasn't the best for her developing cubs.
Frowning at her own foolishness, the lioness shook her head and nuzzled herself against her mate as best as she could. She made herself rather small, feeling as if she was losing the battle against some unknown force.
"Do you think this really was a good idea?"

"Good idea? Aysha… this was the best idea."
*Jack purred and held himself closer to her. He would protect her from herself the best he could… but he could only do so much, Aysha would have to be strong.*
"I know what you fear… but I do not want you to worry right now, you did all you could before, things will be different this time, I can promise you that… you will make a perfect mother and I will… try to be the best father I can be."
*As he spoke he licked her forehead softly and sighed. Poor thing was so emotionally scared… and Jack longed to save her from herself, he really did.*

Aysha flinched noticeably as the cubs within her moved around restlessly. There were more cubs this time than last time, she could tell. She was rounder, larger, heavier. There had to be at least three cubs within her belly. Soon enough, though, she would find out just how many she would mother. Her time was soon and she was half-dreading the day.
Then, as Jack assured and reassured her that things would be better this time, that he would be there to help, she relaxed. Her tail flicked against him then settled down, and she smiled warmly, her body close to his.
"I know... but I'm worried all the same. There are more cubs this time. What if I... mess up, or something?"

“Do not think that way... I am sure everything will go fine. You just need to relax, love.”
*Kujack didn’t want to see her like this… she was so worried; he feared her pulling out her fur! Steeling himself down beside her the male smiled and rested his chin upon her forehead softly.*
“I will be here to protect you; I will not let any harm come to you… you just need to think positive, everything will be fine… I promise.”
*though he couldn’t say he knew that for sure, it was what he wanted to believe.*

The cubs within her belly moved around once again, seemingly restless in her womb. Her time was soon, but how soon? She couldn't remember how long her pregnancy had lasted the time before this, and so she was a little worried that it might sneak up on her unexpectedly. And a surprise birth was the last thing that she wanted right now, especially with all of her stress. She needed to be prepared for this litter, so that she could be a better mother to them.
Shaking slightly, the lioness pressed herself against the father of her cubs. He seemed so confident that everything would be okay. Did that mean that nothing would go wrong?
"I hope so.." she whispered, beginning to bury her face in his soft fur. Her tail flicked and curled around his for comfort. She needed all of the support and reassurance as possible right now. But there was still something bothering her. It lurked in the back of her mind and threateningly resurfaced every once in a while. This was one of those times.
"But Jack," she said quietly, hesitating for a moment. "I.." How could she say it? She thought it might break his heart...
"I think I want to give birth.. a.. alone." There, she had said it. But how would he react?

“Alright.”
*He respected her wishes… and if she wanted to be alone when she gave birth he understood. In all truths… he would have fainted seeing such a sight. Softly he sighed… his chest beating up and down slowly. He loved her dearly- and whatever she wanted he would do his best to give her.*
“I will be here for you, no matter what- and even if I am not beside you, I will be with you.”
*With that Jack sat himself up and licked her forehead softly; he would let her rest for now. She was far too stressed for her own good. Jack would go to get Ger later- he was a bit worried about his son… after all.*

Aysha shook her head, feeling as if she had torn him in two. She thought that he might have wanted to be there when his cubs were born, but she simply had to do this alone. She had to prove to everyone, especially herself, that she was capable of doing something independently, of not screwing something up for a change.
"I'm sorry, Jack," she whispered, her head hanging low with shame. "I just... please, understand."
As he got up and licked her forehead, she saw that he was ready to leave her in peace to rest perhaps. She really needed to save her energy for when the cubs came, and she knew that he was doing the right thing for her. She just wished she didn't feel that she had to give birth alone.
In an attempt to maybe appease him, the lioness hesitantly offered, "I'd feel better if you were near me when I gave birth. If anything goes wrong, I'd know you'd be there to help.."
Would it be enough?

*As she spoke he gave her a coy smile and nodded. She wanted him close he guessed… but not too close. He would stay; he would go- it was up to her. If she wanted him around he would be around and if she wanted him far away he would be far away. He simply wanted her happy and stress free… giving birth under stress caused problems, and they didn’t need any of that.*
“I will be here, Aysha.”
*He spoke softly; his lime green eyes narrowed softly upon her as he rested himself a few feet away. He sighed deeply a few times before adding.*
“You’re beautiful.”

Aysha heaved a great sigh of relief. That had turned out better than she thought it might have, and she was quite pleased. She didn't need anything else to stress over at the moment.
Glad that her mate understood, the lioness purred and rolled over to lay comfortably on her side. Her pregnant belly bulged out, making her give a sideways smile. Maybe her getting pregnant wasn't such a bad thing. She had remembered, with her first litter, how excited and blissful she had been once her son had been born. It just felt amazing to be a mother. This time around, she realized, she was just being too cautious and afraid.
"I love you, Jack," she whispered, before resting her head on the ground and allowing herself to drift off into peaceful rest.
