The cashier, still stunned by the carnage, took Bolide's card without comment and quickly rung up their purchases. He tossed the flattened bread into the bags and stammered a quick "Thanks for shopping," before backing away from the register. That was good. Bolide was pleased. He hadn't expected the man to be very compentent. After all, the human hadn't even noticed that Bolide wasn't wearing a shirt or shoes! It was a shame, really. A shame. If Bolide were the manager here, he would have something to say about it!
With the bags of groceries clutched tightly in both foreclaws and subclaws, Bolide marched out the door. He thought he knew which park Anni and Soo meant, but he wasn't sure. He would have to wait for them to show the way.

Anna felt herself breathing a little easier as she stepped back out into the open air. Anything was better than the tight confines of that grocery store. The face of the cashier...
She wondered for a long moment what it must be like for Bolide, having everyone he met react to him with some form of instinctive, primal fear. Anna glanced back at the tall creature, clutching his grocery bags and waiting for someone to show him the way to the park. Something in her mental vision softened, blurred for a moment, and nothing seemed strange about it at all...
Then the moment passed, as she looked around and saw the faces of the people skirting the edges of the sidewalk, crossing to the other side of the road, to avoid the strange trio.
Anna sighed, and took lead of the freak parade. The path was familiar, and the thought of lunch soon crowded out all other concerns...

Chirping a thank you to the cashier, Tsunake stepped lightly after the pair, feeling happier than she had in ages. Sure, this was strange, but there was nothing wrong with it at all! It was like an adventure. The young woman smiled with satisfaction, pleased with how this day had turned out. Nothing could go wrong with a picnic, right?
Glancing at the bags in Bolide's claws, she wondered briefly if she should offer to take one of them, holding out her hand. "Want me to help?" She ignored the people who leapt to the other side of the street, simply shaking her head as they continued on down the path. Good, this did seem to be the path that lead to the only park she knew of. Gleefully, as it came into view, Tsu noted that there were plenty of open benches; for the most part, the park seemed to be empty. Oh, sure, a few couples were taking a stroll and such, but if the park had been completely empty, Tsunake would have wondered what on earth was going on.
"Good!" Tsunake nodded with approval, grinning at her two companions. She felt giddy almost, like none of this was really happening.

Bolide graciously passed down one of the lighter bags to Soo. She was flimsy and obviously couldn't carry a Bolide-sized share, but it was nice that she had offered to help. He shambled along after Anni, twitching his tail briskly. Bolide didn't mind being part of a freak parade, and it was a lovely day for a picnic. He didn't mind the terrified reactions of the other pedestrians, either. As long as they didn't make a fuss and mess up his picnic with his new friends, he was content to ignore them.
The park was nice and open, with few potential nuisances wandering around. Good. It was nice to see other people out enjoying the day. There were no horrible obnoxious childrens' sports going on, either. Yeurk. It was all very well for human children to beat the crap out of each other on their school campuses, but when little league games took place in public parks somebody ended up with a football in the eye and an arrest for a public disturbance. Bolide had seen it happen.
"Where are we eating?" All picnic benches were more or less created equal in Bolide's eyes, but he knew that human women had picky ideas about what was scenic and what wasn't. He would happily accept the bench of their choice, provided it was sturdy enough to hold his weight.

Anna scanned the scattered benches, looking for one big enough to hold both women, their new giant-sized friend, and all of their lunches. It was a tall order, but a nice wide bench soon caught her eye. It was partially shaded by the far branches of a sprawling tree. The spot would provide both snatches of sunlight and the sound of the breeze rustling through the leaves. It was restful...
Anna needed restful.
Even in such...peculiar - but fascinating - company.
She looked back at her companions and smiled, lifting her hand in the direction of the quiet place. "How about that bench right there?"

Tsunake seemed to be thinking the same, fixing her eyes pointedly on the benches that just seemed to be calling their name. After such an exciting morning, wouldn't it be nice just to sit down and relax for a little bit? She certainly thought so. And besides, who really wanted to be gawked at the entire time they were trying to eat? The woman nodded in agreement, returning Anna's smile with a small grin of her own.
"Yeah, that looks lovely. Not right in the sun, but not too shady, either..." Idly meandering over, Tsunake swept off any leaves that had fallen on the bench, taking a seat on the end. There was plenty of room, even for someone of Bolide's size. It should hold all of their weight without strain.

Bolide trundled happily over to the chosen bench and plopped himself down next to Soo. It was a little too small to suit him, but it would do. He tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for Anni to come sit down. They had chosen a nice location. Pretty enough, and out of the way of the main paths. Too bad they hadn't brought a frisbee. Bolide liked frisbees.
"How we eating? There is no tablecloth. You see?" Chagrined, Bolide brought one of the bags up to his snout to peer into it. Nope, no tablecloth. He wasn't too finicky about his food, but certain standards needed to be maintained when on a picnic.
