((Backset RP,))

The meeting had gone well for the pack over all, the only problem was that once it was over, said and done with Rio and Naib were still on uneven terms.

The young Mexican wolf followed his mate back in the direction of their den, his head kept low in show of his guilt. He really hadn't expected her to take it this badly, the news... He'd seen no harm in waiting to tell her, but oh buddy did he regret it now.

The moon cast well on her features as she walked, small signs of annoyance giving away the fact she was still sore, for they weren't usually there. He'd better set this right, fast.

"Naib...?" He questioned softly, once they had reached the entrance of the lakeside cave.

She moved stiffly, a cold chill running over her spine. Rippling through her, over and over again, was the thought of Rio: Shaman. It wasn't a bad thing, she supposed, for it did not make her mate any different then he was before she found out, however it was just the shock of him keeping it hidden. They were mates, and to Naib's understanding mates told one another everything...right?

Unlike her mother’s case, this was how Naib wanted her life to become. She set her standards high, and even if her joining with Rio seemed rushed and straight forwards, she still idolized him as perfection for her mate. In ever aspect he was grand, from his enthralling personality to his long flowing fur that combined into such an array of neutral blends. Naib felt thrilled to have met such a wolf like he, who treated her with the utmost respect and loved her for who she was. There was no mistake that Naib fallen upon the right creature at the right time.

So indeed there was no reason for Naib NOT to be upset with Rio, even if she took it to an extremity. If Rio hid this from her, then it must've been because he wanted to protect her. That was how Naib saw Rio, and that was how Naib wanted to take it. As the two moved towards the den, his crisp voice, however soft it seemed, shook her from her thoughts. At first, the young wolf did not reply, eyes lowered and shadowed with dismay, yet within seconds of waiting, she glanced to her mate, his features also gleaming in the milky ray of the moon, and fronted a smile as best she could. "Hm...?"

Rio felt a weight lift from his shoulders as she finally spoke a reply, after she hadn't said anything to him between now and the meeting moments past, mostly for him being to afraid to bother her in front of the others, lest they end up making a scene.

He looked to his mate with worried brown eyes, as if seeing right through her fake smile. He did. Rio was no seer (that was Amelie's thing, though he didn't know it yet), but he was a powerful empath, and he could read Naib better than anyone, besides, she was his mate, his LIFE mate, if he couldn't read her feelings then he didn't deserve to be at her side.

A high, soft whine broke the silence that fell between them, the note straining and breaking at it's peak, then falling to a low pitch before fading out. His expression was clear-- he knew she was still upset, she didn't have to pretend.

"I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner..." He murmered regretfully. "I wanted to tell you, I would have, but everytime I worked up the nerve something came up... And part of me was nervous of what you'd think, part of me was hoping you wouldn't be upset by it."

And why was she upset? Did the fake smile mean that she was completely weirded out by him? Had she bad experiences with someone in the past? But the only shaman Rio knew besides himself was Sol-lun, and he wouldn't hurt a fly if he could help it! He just didn't understand. Was the notion of him speaking to water just crazy talk to her?

He lowered his nose, his eyes moving down with the rest of his face as it was angled towards the ground with distress. His expression furrowed slowly into a frown, berating himself and worrying over what consequences he'd brought down on his head.

"It's all still new to me myself, I was just a normal wolf back home. When I fell into the river, I should've died, I don't know why I ended up here, or why I was the one that ended up with this.... gift, but I'm still me, Naib, I swear, it doesn't change anything."

He looked to her hopefully, eyes pleading with her to give him a chance, not to turn away from him.

That whine, piercing to the ear, brought Naib to flinch and flatten slightly. Sorrow, Rio looked the part and played it well. Though she knew he was authentic in his apology, she still could not understand why he would keep it from her. His gaze burned her features; she felt his stare more now then ever and sympathetically fell into it. He did not want her to turn away from him, whether it be simply with her own two eyes or with her entirety.

His head fell, his guilt catching up to him. Rio wasn't hard to figure out at this moment, ever gesture he made transmitting from his raw emotions. She began to feel more of a mate to him now then before, and in this moment all she wanted was to let him know she understood. Lifting her head and glancing off, Naib sighed. "I know..."

She quieted then, pondering on many things, but more or less to keep him wondering if she was done or not. Her throat cleared, mouth parting for words once more. "Rio, I do not see you any different then I did before. You are the same male I fell for, the same male I want to continue on with. I know you kept this from me because you were worried I'd think something of you, judge you..." She chuckled, her first sign of forgiveness. "But I do not judge what I do not understand. You, being a shaman, does not lead me to think of you as something other then the one I adore. I should not have gotten mad at you, it was stupid of me. And I'm sorry because of it..." Naib paused, eyes moving back to her mate. It was so easy to fall angered with him, yet so hard to keep at it. The female smiled and moved forwards, brushing her forehead against his chin.

"I will trust in you that if you keep something from me, it's only because you wish to protect me...because I love you enough to know you'd never want to hurt me." Naib paused, slipping her head down his neck and across his shoulder. "I love you..."

This time the weight lifted from his heart. She had forgiven him, she wasn't angry anymore, thank the waters.

His own chin came to rest on her shoulders as she drew in close to him, her words reverbarating strongly in his mind. He would never take this woman for granted, she was his, his one and only, and just like he could read her better than anyone else, so did she for him. She was the one that knew all of his deepest secrets, or would soon, there wasn't much else to tell that was of any significance, but the idea of sharing all his little misbehaviors as a pup with her was overwhelming.

"I love you too, Naib, more than anything in this world. From now on I'll tell you everything." He smiled affectionately, grooming her shoulders a bit before pulling back to look her in the eye. "Including all the little thoughts that pop into my head, like how lucky I am that mi amor is so understanding, and the most gorgeous wolf I'd ever laid my eyes on."

Flirt!

But it was scincere too, just like his apology had been, and he began grooming her muzzle now too, with tender kisses and a jaw-to-jaw smile.

Naib softened, tassel tossing to and fro with excitement. Rio was willing to spill his heart to Naib, and she was willing to do just the same. Everything, from when she was a pup to her father's secrets and more. There was nothing, she felt that could hold her back. Returning his affection with kisses of her own, the she-wolf smiled. "Not as handsome as the wolf whose heart is of gold and who of which has eyes I'd be willing to stare in all day long."

Rio was so insanely cute. However, now that she was so eager to share herself with him, there was something she really wanted to tell him. Her features grew less gleeful and a little more serious, ears flicking back as she pulled away and rolled onto her haunches. "Rio, I should tell you...I do not know what a shaman is, but if it's anything like what my father was, then I suppose...I do understand you." She paused, glancing about as if searching for a pair of yellow eyes and fox like features to appear. "My mother, whose name was Soul, mated to a male who...was, like yourself, special in a way that meant he had--abilities. I have no way of knowing if my siblings knew of this, however when we all grew older, I stayed behind with my mother to watch her, seeing that my father left her for another. She told me everything about him, and that he was a Seer." She paused, the words spilling quickly, though she hadn't meant for them to. "She told me he was unlike the others, different in that he could foresee things, and go into others head. I believed her...because I did not know my father as one should..." She smiled. This felt too good, she was able to tell something so secret, something even her mother would have beaten her for--and Soul was not one to hit her daughters, but this was very serious and a very personal matter. Rio and Naib were now a family, and the family things Naib held in her past were now open for Rio to know.

She hesitated to continue, opening her maw before slamming it shut again. She told this to him, because she knew now he would possibly be able to help her understand, or at least explain what he did--if it was even close to what her father was. Teeming with curiosity, she sat, still as stone and eyed her mate inquisitively. Perhaps now was the time to tell one another the things that needed to come out.
