((This would be an RP between myself and Em. And that's about all I know right now. ^.^; And, for reference, this would be Kieran without a completed tag.)) It was a small, out-of-the-way place off the beaten track. The interior was a blend of fuzzed, yellow lighting from overhead and wall mounted sconces that weren't exactly complementary. There was an odd bar set-up towards the back that served as the counter as well as extra seating with a few stools. The other seating ranged from tables to booths. It had wooden plank flooring with a darker finish that drew the light down and away from the low-pitched ceiling. It worked to help the place seem brighter, oddly enough. Of course, when the outside light was gone from the windows it could possibly work in reverse.Kieran slid in through the front door and looked around a bit. There were only a few other people in the shop, and that was all the better for him. Quietly, he walked up to the counter and placed an order for one of the specialty drinks - a caramel mocha latte. Awkwardly, and a fair bit self-consciously, he stood by the counter waiting for his order. The black tattoo across his back was covered by his black short-sleeve shirt. Jeans finished his outfit, and his green tail was presently wrapped around one of his legs.
He was new in town, and of course was just trying to get his barings straight for now. Coffee had seemed like a good substitute to actually finding a place to eat. Actually, it was more that something hot had seemed like a better choice. It wasn't exactly cold outside, but there was a short breeze slipping through at odd times. Well, the chill through the apartment was worse than on the street.

(( xD And for the sake of the thing, I'll be using Mariondae. )) This was just the sort of place where the tan rabbit felt most at home. He was minding his own business, sipping his coffee, a concoction that was probably ordered custom, had probably irritated the person waiting on him, and contained an unwholesome amount of sugar.
Mariondae wasn't new. Or at least, not that new. He knew this place and had been dragged to it on multiple occasions by those who dubbed themselves his friends. Tavion was all right...most of the time.
But he was here to get away from the newest of the batch...because the bunny was tempted to turn him into a fluffy pastel pink chick and see how he liked it. Said newbie being Marluxia, who was, to be frank, a pain in the a**.
Bright green eyes noticed a cat with hair that matched the rabbit's own gaze. Hmm...interesting.

He took the plastic cup from the clerk as it was offered to him, thanking him meekly before turning to search out a place to sit. He kenw that taking a seat in a booth alone would look a little awkward, but it offered a little more privacy than the tables in the middle of the room. Ears partially lowered, he slid into the seat of the booth and shuffled towards the wall. He kept his head partially tilted towards the table, bowed over his drink as he waited for it to cool enough to sip.

Mariondae's ears rotated in the brightly colored cat's direction. Noting the akward sort of way he was behaving, it only confirmed the rabbit's suspicions that the feline was new here. With a sigh that indicated reluctance, even though he was not at all adverse to new acquantinces, he moved away from his spot and sauntered over to the other's booth.
"Hello..." His voice was low and pleasant, and he had a vaguely aimiable look on his face. "I couldn't help but notice...but...you seem rather new around here, have you come to the area recently?"

Kieran's ears flagged up as the other approached, almost taking on a rather frantic expression for a fainting moment before the rabbit had introduced himself. The cat attempted a smile back, though it was entirely too self-conscious to really be reflective of his mood. "Y-Yeah. Just this morning, actually."
Remembering his manners, he stood from his seat and offered his hand. "I'm Kieran, by the way. It's, uh, nice to meet you." His voice was quiet, but there was a strong degree of assurance behind them. He wasn't shy from his tone, it was more like he was meek or perhaps even reserved.

He took it, a firm handshake that also showed that this particular rabbit had no fear in such circumstances. "And I'm Mariondae." Inclining his head towards the near-confection that was the feline's drink, he smiled faintly. "What did you order?" Might as well, it was a way to start a conversation at least.

His own grip was solid, though not exactly firm. Glancing back at his own drink, he stated rather simply, "Just a caramel mocha latte. Something that caught my eye, really." He hadn't even tried it yet, and was suddenly wondering if it would even be to his tastes. A smile flickered back across his lips, softening his features and banishing the bit of nervousness that could have been clinging on since the bunny had first approached.
"And you?" It wasn't much of a conversation at all, no, but he wasn't the type to inquire about the rather obvious weather.

"That will rot your teeth, you know..." He replied dryly, but there was a bemused smile upon his lips, "But then, I'm not one to talk. We haven't come up with a name for what this is, yet, but I'm sure one of these days they will...I'm afraid I've mangled all known recipes beyond recognition."
The list of things he'd added to the once-humble cup of coffee was somewhat staggering, and yes, it had indeed annoyed the employee behind the counter. But Mariondae knew what he desired, after all. Right?

He shrugged his shoulders to the first comment from Mariondae. His own off-hand comment came out with a shade of blunt distaste, "Nothing in life is good for you, anyways." The small smile on his lips remained in place as the bunny mentioned the bit about his own drink, spreading a bit at the corners.
"Why not join me, if you aren't in a rush somewhere?" He motioned to the pillowed seat across the table from his own drink, hoping he wasn't exactly pressuring the other. It just wasn't right to not offer him a place to sit after he came over here. And he did want to sit down and drink his coffee after all.
