James climbed up and out with Stryphe's help making it go about as fast as hopping up a step. He produced a knife immediately and used it to pry open the elevator doors to the second floor before replacing it.
"Yeah," he said with a sly grin, "the first place they'll block up is the front entrance." He pushed the doors wide enough to climb through and then climbed up onto the second floor; reaching a hand down into the shaft.
"Let's go the easy way."

He took James' hand and was soon standing in a hallway on the second floor.
"Lead the way. Joseph'll be able to recover our junk, I'm sure."

True to building code, right next to the elevator was a sigh showing fire exits. James placed his finger on it, and hastily went through things.
"Typically, police will first surround the entrance to the building. Might even be waiting at the bottom of the elevator right now. Next they'll go for the back entrance..." He pointed towards all the staircases, which would have fire doors at the bottom floor as emergency exits. "Here, here, here... So, what part do they cover last?"
James pointed down a long hallway lined with offices, towards a plateglass window on the side of the building.
"Everywhere else."
Lucky they'd parked around back.

Arms crossed, Stryphe examined the window at the end of the hall.
"Right," He said, weighing some of the options, "then how do you want to do this? I could make with the glowie first or we could just take some glass in the face. That's always fun. Then again, I wouldn't be too surprised if you had a ropeladder in your pocket."
It was like a cheesy buddy-cop movie. Only the other side.

"Race ya."
By the time he finished saying it he was already off to a start. Mainly because he knew he had no chance in hell of winning, but that certainly wasn't going to stop him. It was only a second story window, at most they were twenty feet off the ground. If James could take it he was sure Stryphe would be able to.

"WOO!"
And they were off! Jamesblackintheleadwithadamnquickstartandhe'sgoing, goingBUTWAITSTRYPHEISCOMING UPTOTHELEFTIT'SGONNABEACLOSEONE,FOLKS-
CRASH!
Glass, fresh air, sirens. Free at last!
The hellions were freefalling now, but the 20 foot drop was a lot shorter than it seems. Stryphe knew they both had enough technique to take this fall. His feet hit first, followed by his hands. He spread out the impact the best he could.

...well... the few office workers who poked out of their offices to wonder what the hell was going on out there were mildly impressed. Someone clapped.
"Now let's get the hell out of here."

"True dat."
Few smart remarks and a key-search later and the boys were off like the dickens.

Things had calmed down back to normal at the AtE corporation building, and Stryphe managed to just walk right in easily enough. He was dressed differently now- blue jeans, a white t-shirt under a black leather jacket. His face would be unmistakable to the employees- he's around all the time.
Really, they've learned to only call the cops on him if he makes trouble. Joseph Brown keeps some strange company.
Fortunately for both Stryphe and the Alpha workers, this visit was a quick one and was completely deprived of any mischevious intent.
An old security guard behind a plexi-glass protected booth made sure to wave Stryphe down before he could enter the building. It worked, too, because Stryphe had come here to see this very security guard, not to cause any trouble inside.
"I hope you didn't hand it over to the police, Al."
"No, no, sir. They wanted it, though. Told 'em it was property of Joseph's now and if they wanted it they'd have to go back to using them goddamn old muskets. They couldn't argue much with that."
"And Mr. Black's weapons?"
"Your partner in crime, eh? Yeap, I got those too."
"Good. Hang onto them- I'm not sure when he'll be back."
"Can do."
"Thanks, Al. Sorry about the whole... thing."
"Oh, no problem. Scared that new intern shitless, though. Best hazin' I've seen since I graduated in-"
"Good! Good. Seeya 'round, Al."
"'Ap, seeya later."
Stryphe stepped away from the booth and made his way down a short hallway nearby. A single door at the end of this hallway unlocked as he approached it.
"Team tournament..."
He thought aloud as he made his way across the small room to his halberd. It looked out of place among all the crates and conviscated firearms and whatnot. There were a couple swords here and there- mostly katanas. Though nothing in the room shined quite like Stryphe's halberd, it's wickedly curved blades barely touching the ceiling.
Stryphe grasped the weapon- it was much taller than he, yet he handled it flawlessly, effortlessly out of the room and away from the building.
