I haven't found a thread on this yet although I've talked to a few of its players on gaia. Mekton, MektonII, and now Mekton Zeta is a tabletop rpg made to play ANY type of mecha anime style game you can imagine.

Check it out if you're into rpgs, and check it out of you're into mecha.

Mekton Zeta boasts a system that allows you to make any type of mechanical structure from a small pocket knife to a giant space cruiser.

To top it off, third party companies release a series of inexpensive pre-done mecha from popular anime like Votoms, Gundam, Evangelion, and more to be used with Mekton rules.

Here are a couple of links you could check out. I'll post other links soon.

I want to know if anyone's played this rpg before and if so, how did you like it?

Yah I've heard of this some time ago in an issue of V-Max but like you, I've yet to play it. I don't have any table top playing friends so those kind of games go unplayed over here. The magazine came with character sheets of Tekkaman Blade, Tekkaman Blade II & Giant Robo.

I'd need a copy of the books.

If anyone finds electronic copies while I'm busily shopping local bookstores, send me a link or tip as to where they are.

I've seen the rules, and owned the rulebook at one point. It looked interesting, but I never had a chance to play MZ (Which is a shame; I like the Starblade Battalion setting).

Maybe I should go hunting; I feel a need to build the Raioh/Dairaioh.

Well, I managed to get a copy of Mekton Zeta. Still no luck on getting Mekton Zeta Plus... but at least I've been able to check out the rules in MZ.

They aren't bad, but it seems dated. I'll compare Zeta's play rules with the free rules in Mekton Alpha to see if a long-distance game run in this guild would be possible.

If you do decide to go ahead, count me in!

Alright, Now that university is done for the year I can examine the game with much more focus.

I'll have to ask whether people want Super Mecha or real-ish mecha. I always personally find myself enjoying a little of both, if not combined.
