So I've been on the SA forums since some time in '04, which gave me ample time to learn about the 'chans before GAIA got their sticky, nasty, gullible fingers in the stuff.
4chan is a bunch of FYAD reject faggots.
7chan is a bunch of 4chan reject faggots.
It isn't that ******** funny, I promise you. I have a hard time expressing how much of a let-down it is to see people yammer on and on and on about stupid ******** 4chan memes, and going to 7chan and planning GAIA invasions, when they themselves are Gaians.
Maybe I never thought the 'chans were cool because everyone is anonymous, or because you don't have to hide your tendency towards *****; or maybe it's because at /ic/, they sure can dish out the critique, but they haven't a clue in the world how to take it. I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of 'channers are grotesquely obese, socially awkward cowards, and the fact that Gaia is so into that disgusts me. The way they take forum invasions seriously and flip out when someone "steals" their memes (What the ********? You want people to steal your memes. ) only confirms my convictions.
How can you claim that the Internet doesn't affect you, that you don't care, that nothing here matters, when you freak out over other sites using a meme that was SomethingAwful's, in the first place? If you look at forum invasions like true wartime ******** the 'chans.
There you go. A true AYGGS post for the ages.

After reading the various posts about 4chan, I had a feeling that it was a place to be avoided unless your interests focused on looking at Japanese pr0n and bitching about petty issues.
While parts of Gaia are equally mediocre, at least we don't have to sink to the same level as the losers of 4 and 7chan.

While parts of Gaia are equally mediocre, at least we don't have to sink to the same level as the losers of 4 and 7chan. What bothers me so much about it is that instead of recognizing it for being completely ******** retarded, everybody seems to be convinced it's some kind of underground internet genius or something. 4chan gives me funny images with cats, and spoilers for comics, and every now and again good art, naked or otherwise.
I have sufficently "lurked moar."
I wouldn't say I'm a /b/tard, but to be honest I'm there a hell of a lot more than I am here.

Don't the Somethingawful forum regulars pretty much hate the 4/7Channers? And I can confirm for sure that the Portalofevil regulars hate both SAers and the 4/7Chans to death. Hooray for internet cliques and factions! The Iconoclast As do I, which is why I have so much fun putting "fat" in the search field on DeviantART. D: Well, I do go through PoE's links for the day...

Hahaha, Portal of Evil still exists? Ho HO! Yeah. I'm a SAer, mostly in Ask/Tell. I spend a lot more time here than I do there, though, and SAers rarely mention 4/7chan. I just - I dunno. I think maybe I've been on the Internet too long and that kind of Internet humor isn't funny anymore; it went from "new" to "jaded, but in that funny, ironic way" to "jaded in a way I am past". It's humor for people who hate hipsters but don't realize how post-ironic they are being.
