what exactly is questing?
i'm fairly new to gaia and am still getting used to the terms

Questing is when you post a thread to say "I'm trying to save up gold for this item." Whatever that item may be. Take me for instance. I'm saving for another Dark Halo.

You can go to tektek.org to make a questbar like that. Some people donate, some people can bump the thread (which is just keeping it at the top), and others may trade you the item you need for something that you have that they need.

It's really fun, but really frustrating.
