That's great and all....but why don't we try and talk about the man's life, I've always been more of a fan of celebrating life than mourning death. That's why my friends and I always throw a kickass party on Dimebag Darrel's B-day. xd

Now don't kill me, he was good, but was he as good as every one makes him out to be? I think when he died, he got a healthy dose of Kurt Cobain syndrome (who died after him, but oh well), it seems that when a musician dies young, he/she is instantly immortalized, Cobain, Burton, Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin, Lennon, etc.. I mean, I don't want to by any means take away from their accomplishments but it seems to me that if all these people were still living, would we idolize them so much?

I think we would, and Hendrix was idolized while he was alive.

Hendrix yes, but Cliff wasn't on the same level as him. Sure he was fast, but i've seen faster. Geddy Lee, for example, is a better player than Cliff was, as well as many others. Not to discredit Cliff, but he wasn't as amazing as everybody makes him out to be.

Try looking up Dream Theater, their bassist makes my ears bleed he's that good.
