The young cub stood idle, as the foot of the den's opening. Her pupils -- widening with every moment's pass. Kiwimbi was her name, and she well, looked nothing like her mother, or her father. She was the blue oddball. Her yellow-toned tail flicked lightly about, as she dusted her fur.
As she left her home, slowly, she looked back. Only a few weeks old, she felt a strong attachment to that place. Sighing, she padded ahead, her gaze inching to the ground. Her body shook, in shock of the strange place. Being as shy and afraid as she was, she found the nearest patch of tall grass, and hid herself. Her eyes slowly turned, as she peered around the area. Her heartbeat increased, as she sunk lower to the ground.

He was padding along in the tall grass just like every moment he got away from his family. His tail flicking to each side every few steps while his ears listened to everything around him. His golden eyes watched the path he was forming before him. Inari was near the middle of the Pridelands for the most part today, which was strange for Inari always liked to play by the borders of the Pridelands.
Inari stopped.
Sniffing the air he could smell someone, something nearby. Inari crouched down slightly, and began to creep through the tall grass...they were close, real close. But he stopped as his head came crashing into a rock that he hadn't seen (though it was very large). "Owww!!!" he screeched as he stepped and stumbled backwards falling on his back. It hurt so bad, his forehead coming into contact with that.
When Inari sat up again, he could see something blue closeby, what was it? "Hi?" he questioned, perhaps he was just seeing things. Or perhaps he wasn't.

Kiwimbi approached the male slowly, afraid. She hunched low, down. Her face, looking at the shallow ground beneath her. "... ... H.. i." She looked away, as her eyes folded back. "Who ... areyou?" Her voice was soft, and quiet. You could barely hear what she had to say. She stood silent, at a loss of words.

Inari watched as the blue thing revealed itself to be a small female cub, only a bit smaller then him. Her pelt color was amazing, he had never seen such a bright blue before, let alone on a lion. He smiled at her and blinked, "I'm Inari, I live my my family that way," he said raising his right paw pointing in the direction of his den, where most likely his brothers and sister were playing or romaing around.
He placed his paw down, he noticed she seemed so quiet, so shy, she talked so softly...perhaps she was nervous? He wondered if this was her first time being out on her own here, when he was used to it now. "Your pelt is such a bright color...very pretty," he said almost blushing. He hasn't come across many females in his time wandering around. He puffed out his chest a bit, trying to make her laugh by making himself look over inflated, then he let the air out of his lungs for it was too much for him adn he smiled.
Inari wasn't good at impressing the ladies much...he could already tell. "Whats your name? Are you out to play today?" he asked in a calm and friendly tone.

Kiwimbi looked away for a moment, somewhat afraid of his presence. Although she was frightened, she still wanted to answer his question. "I'm Kiwimbi. ... well, no. I'm not out to play. I don't really ... have any friends." She sighed, looking down even more. Her uncomfortable level shot high, as she backed up slightly. Her ears continued to lower.
Her eyes slanted, as she peered back up into the other cub's eyes. "Thank you. I ... umm. My mom always tells me i'm special because of it. ... but, I don't really understand."

No friends? Impossible, Kiwimbi seemed like such a nice lioness cub, why wouldn't anyone befriend her as of now? Or perhaps this was the first time out on her own maybe? That might be the reason. Inari still smiled warmly, trying to diminish her uncomfortable-ness aorund him, she seemed quite shy, but he wasn't going to hrut her or be mean.
"I'd like to be your friend Kiwimbi, that is," he glanced to teh side, smiling, tail flicking to teh side, "if you wanted me to," he said finishing off his statement. Would she want him to? "There are a lot of things we won't understand for a while I think, but we will learn in time yes?" He asked looking back to her smiling, hoping she would't be as nervous now. He didn't wat to make her feel uncomfortable.

Kiwimbi continued to slink backwards, until he replied to her. Her ears sprung back up, as he spoke. "You ... you really would be my friend?" Her jaw flung open with suprise. After standing idle in shock for a few moments, her frown slowly began to turn into a faint smile. Maybe this is really what she needed all along. ... ... a friend.
The light blue cub smiled, and came back to Inari's side. Her tail flicked about, as she sat beside him. She turned, looking at him. "Maybe we can go play around Priderock? ... ... I heard they have some nice big rocks to jump and play around."

Inari was glad Kiwimbi seemed to be getting less nervous around him, "Of course I would be your friend, your so nice Kiwimbi," he said with a smile. Pawing at the ground somewhat with anticipation of playing around, Pride Rock? That would be fun, he actually hadn't been 'on' Pride Rock yet, would be interesting and fun filled.
"Then shall we go then?" he said with a smile, trying to be charming and funny at the same time, he puffed his chest out a bit, ears perked up. This would be nice, he had a new friend.

"Of course we should go!" Kiwimbi blushed, as she followed, trailing behind Inari. She felt like an empty spot in her heart was filled. She never had a friend before, so this was an amazing feeling. She gracefully padded alongside the male, as she giggled a bit, looking ahead. "This will be fun!" She lept about, feeling all ... joyful and jumpy. More than ever before.

Inari smiled as Kiwimbi walked with him, this was nice, making a friend on his own, being out on his own with his own friend. "It will be, but we have to be careful too," he knew all too well what could hpapen with jumping and playing. Bumps hurt, he knew that. Plus, he didn't want Kiwimbi getting hurt either!
They were getting closer with every step taken, Inari looked back to where they had come form, it was too far, which was good. He didn't want Kiwimbi's parents getting mad at him for taking Kiwimbi too far, "What should we do first there Kiwimbi?"

"How about we jump off some of the rocks first? ... ... my brother told me they were fun!" Her smiled widened as they quickly approached their destination. Large and small boulders led the way to the Pride Rock, and looked quite fun. She really didn't seem scared at all like she was at first, that was for sure.
She darted off ahead of Inari, and lept onto a rock. She paused, as she kneeled down, lifting her bottom in the air, to take a try at the next boulder infront of her. With a bit of momentum, she made her way to the next one. "Comeon, Inari! Follow me!" She jumped about, going from rock to rock. It truely was fun.

Inari nodded at her and walked along. Then he watched as she bolted out and jumped on a rock, that led to other rocks, which led to more. It was like a pathway of rocks, perhaps it was supposed to be like that? Maybe it was for teaching cubs how to balance when pouncing...that could be it.
He followed after her, jumping on the first rock she was on, ready to jump to the next one he was crouched down, tail flicking to teh side behind him. Determination in his eyes, this was a grand time. "I'll follow you Kiwimbi! Lead the way!"

"Good!" She giggled, looking back to Inari with joy. "Then once we reach the top, we can leap back down. That's the best part!" Kiwimbi raced up with the male cub trailing behind her. It wouldn't be long now before they would make it all the way to the top of the stones. Then the fun would really begin.

Inari kept up after Kiwimbi, tailing on her heels, but they were nearing the top. He was so excited. She said going back down was the best part? He couldn't wait! Stone after stone they went, until they reached the top. Inari peered down to where they had come from before. Leap down? Interesting thought, he grinned looked like it would be fun, "Would you like to go first Kiwimbi?" he asked, bending down a bit and gesturing his paw outwards, it was only right to ask her first. Least in Inari's mind.
