Malik was padding along the outskirts of Phib's territory. He was on watch but today he was a bit more relaxed with everything that had happened recently. SO many things and so little time to go over everything. PLus now he had to worry about Rage and Cael getting too close, but Rage was often running off anyway, perhaps she was seeing someone else? It burned Malik's heart, he'd have to find out who.
He wanted someone for his own, to call his own and protect and feel like he was on top of hte world. But it had yet to happen with Malik, besides the run in with the female Kaisou, he didn't even know where she had run off too.
He plopped himself down in a clearing as the sun beat down warming his back. This area was a bit wamrer from the beaches today, the breezes were making it too cold, Malik liked to be nice and warm. But he wanted excitement too, adn laying in the sun wasn't the greatest of excitements.

Excitement? Well, he was about to get his wish. Suddenly the forest, which had been so quite before, broke out into screams of birds. Their shrieks were almost unearthly in their fury and shapes could be seen to scatter above the treetops only to dive back down and disappear from sight. But the noises continued. Then in a snap the bushes nearby began to rustle and a wolf burst out into the clearing a flock of birds diving at her face.
"Stupid BASTARDS!" She swore vibrantly as she dodged sharp beaks and stumbled over clumsy, angry paws. "It's not like I MEANT to hit you're ******** nest!" She continued to race recklessly in a manner through the clearing, not paying any attention to where she was going. Or who might be trying to relax there.

Malik had his head resting on the ground, then it started to rumble, something was coming. SO much for relaxation, perhaps something interesting would happen now. But as an image of orange and white burst through the underbrush Malik's red eyes went wide, "What the hell?" and the wolf wasn't stopping! "Hey watch where your g-" he got hit in teh face with a paw and rolled over, tears coming to his eyes from his nose getting hit...that hurt!
Shaking his head he watched as birds continued to dive at the wolfess, this was just too much, noisy little things, Malik growled upwardly and howled into the air, the fur on his neck bristling up, the birds seemed to get teh message and began to disperse one by one. Yet one dove at his head and pecked at the back of his neck adn he twitched. "So much for that..." he turned back to the wolfess before him and tried to straighten himself up, he'd never seen her before, "Are you alright?"

The wolfess changed after some of the fleeing birds, jumping and snapping at their wings and tail feathers. "That's right! Get your tufted asses out of here!" she snapped with feeling. Well, it could be said she had quite a spirit on her! When they were out of reach and finally out of sight she snorted, "Serves you right you pests!" She stood with her body straight and high with confidence, her ears quivering forward with energy.
It took her a long moment to realize someone else was there...let alone that he had asked her something. When she turned her head she stared at him with bright green eyes and blinked a few times. Then, narrowing them in slight puzzlement she cocked her head. Where had he come from...? The frick'n sky? Whatever. "Course I'm fine! I had them damn birds beat!"

Malik half-laughed to himself, "Course ya did," she was quite the energetic one it seemed. What was she doing running anyway? Let alone from birds? Strange, very, very strange. "So was having them chase you here part of your plan to get back at them?" he asked with a smile, wait, he stopped, that wasn't nice of him at all.
"I'm sorry...I'm just...so tired and such. I'm Malik, what brings you this way...besides the birds if anything?" he asked curiously. Perhaps she was traveling this way, or was just running from the birds. Either could be a noted explanation.
Or perhaps she was part of a neighboring pack? Hmm, that could be it. But she seemed strange, flopped ears and a curled tail? Very strange, Malik had never seen a female like her before.

"I didn't have room to manuver in the dense trees!" She huffed irritably, wrinkling her nose in distaste. "Once I got out here I could snap at them properly! I don't know how anyone can expect to do anything with all these giant trunks around!" It was quite obvious from the way she talked that she wasn't form this area at all. She had have come from somewhere pretty far away if there weren't a lot of trees there.
Her tail swished slightly and by the set motion of her maw she still looked a little put off by his earlier words. She could fend for herself! "I dunno...I was just wandering around, I guess. Anything wrong with that?" she questioned skeptically, as if she expected him to mock that aspect of her too. "I'm Riley, not that it seems like I should be giving you my name or nothing."

Malik flicked his ears sideways, females, they were so confusing. One would be quiet the next would be yelling at anything they could see...why were they so complicated? "Where are you from? Since well, you don't like the trees here," he stated and shifted his tail a bit. Breathing in the crisp air here.
"Are you heading anywhere, or just, looking for no where in particular to go?" he was curious, he admitted it to himself, but he wouldn't say it to this female...she was...odd. To say the least.
