Well, it took me a while to get this thread up, but I finally did. Would have sooner, but I just now realized that I had forgoten about it. sweatdrop

Well, what's past is past, but this thread is about what is to come. Whenever I get new updates on the happenings of Christopher Paolini's "Inheritance", whether it be about books, movies or games, I will post about it here, so check back ofter for any changes!

Well, as of right now, in the field of writing, Eldest DE (Deluxe Edition) was released in stores on Saturday. The release date for the third book, thought to be called "Empire", has yet to be released to the public.

In games, a version of Eragon: The Game is due to be released for nearly every system (including PC) on November 14. A trailer for the pc version of the game, as well as 2D and 3D box pictures can be found at http://www.Shurtugal.com.

Finally, in movies, the thing that we've all been anticipating and, for the surprising many, fearing, is Eragon: The Movie! The movie is still in production, and the job for special effects has been too much for only one company. The labor has been divided between ILM (George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic) in America, and another special effects studio roughly the same size in New Zieland. The movie is due for release across the U.S. on Dec. 15.

For anyone who still visits this guild, I have a new update from Christopher Paolini: The name of the third book of the Cycle (yes, in case you hadn't heard, he has extended the series to include a fourth book). The name of the third book has been decided to be called "Brisingr".

In the newsletter, Paolini said that he decided to call the book such because it was the first word of the Ancient Language Eragon ever heard, the first magic he ever used, and that it would have great meaning in the third book. I for one look foreward to the release of the book this fall.

That definitely sounds amazing. I already knew about the new name for the book, but I didn't know he extended it to include a fourth book.

Given the amount of things to be covered, though, I believe it's necessary.

Plus, on the topic of the importance of "Brisingr", I think it is possible that it could be his real name in the Ancient Language.

Personally, I think that it should still be a trilogy. He said that it was going to be a trilogy, he should stick to it. There aren't as many trilogies as there are quartets and series'. I see why he would have to overflow into a separate book though. I guess he would make more money if people were buying two books instead of just 1.
