The site is now updated with a storyline for DMC 4 and a document section where Capcom explains every bit of detail of what went on in the Capcom booth in TGS 2006. There are also pictures posted on the section as well and video footages at the Capcom press conference at TGS 2006. Of course the site is in Japanese only just a heads up in advance. Enjoy

Here what we know so far about DMC 4. Note that this info is from the DMC Union on Gamespot.
* The main character you play as is called Nero * The game will b 60fps * It takes place between DMC1 amd DMC2 * Even though the main character is Nero, he looks almost exactly like Dante. * At TGS you will b able 2 play as Nero * Kobayashi wouldn't state for sure if Dante will be playable (Famitsu shows some shots of Dante shooting his gun, but these may just be event scenes) * Capcom will hold a Devil May Cry stage event which will include a surprise announcement
* Speaking with the magazine, director Hideaki Itsuno stated that the change of main character to Nero was made to put fans and newcomers on equal ground with the game. One of the worries was that if the game looks too much like a sequel, new players will have a hard time of playing. * Like part 3, DMC4 will have its stylish drama event scenes directed by movie director Yuji Shimomura. * Itsuno says "The story volume will be greater than that of the previous games" * Itsuno also shared some details on how the game is tapping the power of the PS3. The visuals attempt to deliver a satisfying feel of being in the air. * All the classic Devil May Cry moves are also planned for the game.
* Nero can wield two guns and has access to a variety of swords, including the powerful Red Queen. The combo system is based on that of part 3, Itsuno revealed to the magazine, noting that Capcom has been making adjustments by listening to user feedback. * There are a few mysterious new systems, including one where your sword has an element of "acceleration" about it. * Nero's sword has a bar. The sword has somekind of a driving force in it. It's a new way/element to enjoy the sword handling.
* Besides guns and swords you also use Nero's right arm to pull off devil actions with the "Devil Bringer". Nero's right arm actions are, according to Itsuno, something that could not be done on current machines. * The director, said that one thing he felt was, that as great as DMC3 combat-chaining system was, the combo's ended when the enemies died, so the arm (in part to many other things) can act as a grapple to continually rearrange enemies so that you can continually build up your combo's.
* Nero is a knight within the Order of the Demon Blade, a religious order which protects the secrets and powers of demons from the world. * The game is set in a huge city known as Fortuna. * The people here believe that Sparda is a god, and the Order that Nero works for wants to undo Sparda's seal. * It is for this purpose that Nero ends up in this city, but here his entire unit is slaughtered by the demon hunter Dante. * Dante is a mystery characer to Nero, so Nero doesn't know who he is, this is why it is said that he is a new character and not nelo angelo/ vergil. * Dante is his enemy and appears out of nowhere to kill his allies * There's no indication that he is the Vergil that we know from DMC3 and DMC1.

I think it's interesting that, in a sense, you're playing the role of a potential villain in the story from the get-go. Now, I'm interested in just why Dante sees fit to take out Nero's entire unit. We know there's got to be something behind it to make Dante kill, no questions asked.

Here's my theory it has to do with Nero's demonic arm. Nero doesn't really know the true purpose of why that arm is made for him, and it has something to do with POWER. As for Dante killing the Holy Knights I think they got in his way in order to take that demonic arm away from Nero, because remember in the trailer what Dante said to Nero, "Return "it" to me and I'll let you go." Dante is refering to the demonic arm. He knows something about that arm that Nero doesn't. Now I don't want to be judging this even further, but I got a question that I want to know. Who is the client who gave Dante the info. about the demonic arm and the Holy Sacred Organization and hired him for that job.
