The Bible tells us to love our enemies.
But my Religion teacher on my elementary Catholic School said that we should
choose our right friend (well, she surely refers to the good ones)...

samiyam94 destiny.22 CPUgenius ask her what she ment, you probably just got confused about what she said... i agree biggrin i agree I agree as well! But she is right about choosing the right friends. We need to make sure that we have good influences as friends. We do also need to love our enemies. I would still double check with her about what she meant.

Well, there's a difference between having love for all people as a Christian and actually being friends with someone.
There are plenty of people who I love in the sense that tey are my fellow human beings and I would never wish any harm on them, but they drive me absolutely crazy and are not the first people I'd be jumping up and down to spend my time with.

Well, being friends with someone is one thing but i think we should love EVERYONE, including out enemies. Jesus loved us all, for we were sinners, and we should love our enemies as well as he loved us.

sometimes friends can become enemies if your not careful who you choose as a friend. sometimes not all of them are trustworthy either.
in fact that reminds me of the cliche "bring your friends close, and your enemies closer"
enemies you know right off that you can't trust them, and that they hate you. friends can become 50/50

I agree with what the others have said. You need to choose your friends wisely because everyone needs friends that won't bring them down and I think that when someone is a stable enough Christian to stand up for what he or she believes in no matter what happens then they can stay around their enemies to encourage and show them the love of the Lord.

In the lords words turn the other cheek.... Then why have wars been fought over christianity?
But,I think,we should just live,if someone usings words, just walk away, but if they hit you, then bible or not you need to do something......

I think she means that you can have good friends. But if a really mean person asks you to be his/her friend accept.

To love your enemy is like turning the other cheek or even when they wrong you, ignoring them and just treating them like how'd you treat a nice acquaintence(spell check). But, you should make friends of good company, that way so they don't influence your morality and beliefs. Surely don't take this to heart, you should have some non-christian friends because Jesus did. mrgreen Please keep me in your prayers, i'm in need of spiritual guidence, and just so my walk with God can improve. Just refer to me as "Nneka" ( pronounced "nee-ka") emo
