Shinji and Kaworu are so adorable together! I hear ya on the manga!Kaworu, but that's okay, because he doesn't know better. Cute little psychopathic angel. If you think that's bad though, read Angel Days. It's the manga version of the AU-Evaverse. it's all kinds of special. AWWWWWW! It was long. And cute. And angsty. And made me laugh and cry and want to find the author to strangle at times. But mostly AWWWWW! It is deffinetely the best KS fic I've read. crying -happy tears.

The reason Kaworu kills the kitten in the manga is because he's not human, and he doesn't have human attachments or any sense of love. It's Tabris we're seeing. He doesn't feel emotions, like regret, or compassion, or love. Until he meets Shinji. He kills the kitten, not to make the audience hate him, but to make us realize how drastically he changes when he meets Shinji and how far his love for him has made him come. [He emotionlessly kills a kitten, but he is willing to die to try to save mankind]
Personally, I like the part in... I think Vol. 10 when Shinji throws Kaworu into a wall and almost punches him. It's nice to see Shinji get an emotional response that isn't cowardice or terror, and it's nice to see Kaworu realize there are limits to how people can and cannot behave. [Plus it's hot...]
