I came across this thread on another message board
I visit frequently. I thought I would bring the topic over
this way:

<<<<<
Hello I'am Kenuty from Phoenix server, we have organized a huge ls attack force against the Gil sellers of Phoenix. To put simply i have had enough and many people know this including the players from around the world., What we do is we send an alliance or 2 down to certain areas where we know the gil sellers are and outcamp them. By doing so they will get angry and massively train on players thus getting themselves in trouble. we also learned ways to stop thier bot provoking nms.

#1 Tip is call Gm and keep record of time, what happaned, where, and what was said

#2 get everyone who witness to call gm

#3 If you have mages, continuously heal them, it messes up thier spam bots. and no rules says that you cannot continously heal a player.

#4 don't train or attack back at the Gil sellers in any way or form, be legit about this and be smart.

#5 Take action, If the gm aren't doing this, get your community active and start!

just please be responsible

Pictures are posted at my xanga since i dont have space to host em. www.xanga.com/kenuty
You can view them from there

Please note we did not train these mobs and it was trained upon us due to us interfering with Gil sellers . 2 Members were killed during the training Vonda + Khoa

I have seen many comments on this topic and the majority
were all something like...
"We cant do anything otherwise we might be considered to be harrassing them"
"Why should I care I'm just gonna have fun and you all should too"
"I would help but I've already got into trouble with a GM so I cant afford to take a risk again"

I rarely saw comments supporting the OP reconmendations on how to handle the Gil Sellers. I for one SUPPORT the rebellion and what they are fighting for. Hell, Im not even high enough to camp most of these NMs and HNMs anyway (36WHM and MNK33 being my highest levels), but I still understand the purpose.

So Go-Gaia / FFXI players, what do you think?

GMs wont do a damn thing about it my friend

SE is getting a piece of the cash pie from IGE and the other gil selling sites, if you haven't realized it from the lack of action about it

Bismarck and the people among the server are going to partake in a Mass Account shut down for a month - and so far we have 800 NA people participating, and 300 JP people partaking in it.

SE might be getting some cash from IGE, but when you have 1100 people cancel their account, that's more cash than IGE is probably willing to pay.

1100
....12
--------
....2200
+11000
---------
$13,200

that's if every only has 1 character, with the mules, alt characters - it increases the price

we're hoping this massive cut into their paychecks will make them realize Bismarck is going to stand up for their server.

/hope /pray /dream

i myself will be partaking into this event come februrary

wow, a massive protest. that seems awesome but im not entirly convinced that SE gets profits from IGE. Majority of GMs wont lift a finger against gil sellers but I trully believe that it is due to thier stupidity in how to handle the situation. But what do i know sweatdrop
I never really payed attention in Government or Economics sweatdrop sweatdrop

So scream SE....if they are helping these gil sellers stare

SE can't really tell who is a gil seller or not.. and as for bots, they have to bring up their chatlogs and look for botting scripts which is a lengthy process and most often those people u suspect are bots are NOT bots. once you run your botting script you can't really do anything else or it will mess up. so if they are training mobs on your a** they AREN'T botting. I understand how great of an issue this is and I have no solution, but just know.. most of those people you think are "botting" aren't. they are either afk or doing the same thing most provokers are.. spaming their voke macro.. and as for fishing botters most people when fishing turn all their chat filters off so they can move away from the screen and go watch tv or read a book while they repeatily hit their /fish macro and sort out their inventory every once in awhile.. along with re-baiting. when GMs suspect someone of being a botter, they either /tell them (GM's can surpass all chatlogs XP) and/or if they don't respond within a given time they move their character somewhere and it eventually leads to a month of "gm jail" xd
o and btw.. u mentioned something about no rules against casting spells on users? just be warned you can get in HUGE s**t for casting a spell on someone who is crafting. x.x;;; don't even think about it.
