The numbers that Marc had a passing, totally not nosy interest in revealed that Remi maybe had enough money in her account to last another two to three months. This would explain the folded up classifieds next to the statements and her slightly more-than-usual harried appearance.
"If I make it any stronger you might as well just eat the coffee grounds," Remi replied simply, putting everything into the machine.
She paused for a moment when Haki mentioned the light. Letting the coffee machine run its course, she turned to the blonde child. And then at Gavin, who sat on the table with a dazed look that said he wanted nap time soon.
"What was that Haki?" she asked the little girl. Hadrian said to keep an eye out for this kind of thing. No need for sharp, pointy objects to show up around Haki. Then who would she get to babysit Gavin? (it was a mutual relationship in the babysitting sense). Fortunately the dragon toy didn't look sharp or pointy, but she still wanted to know how the heck it got there. "How did you get that toy?"

If Haki hadn't been trying hard to impress Remi, she would probably have rolled her eyes. Actually, it was probably the fact that she hadn't discovered the joy of teenage hormones that controlled her.
But her expression was still exasperated as she watched Remi. Did the woman not understand? "Haki want dragon." she said slowly. "Gavin make dragon!"
Marc didn't like the fact that this frame of mind about the wily hawk boy might become permanent.
"Haki, if you need anything, just ask daddy, okay?"
Haki ignored the words and instead offering the dragon to Remi. "HAKINBY!"

Gavin may have been tired, but he could still comprehend the gist of the conversation. As if to spite Marc--not that he realized that's what he was doing--he declared with a tired smile,
"I make Haki anyting Haki wants!"
Remi blinked, trying to make connections. Gavin made the dragon? Did that mean he made that ninja stuff too? Hadrian had mentioned again that they would all grow to have abilities, but why so soon with Gavin? It might not even be an ability. Maybe he just got really good at stealing things from small children or ninjas.
"Hakinby," she mimicked, taking the tiny dragon. After studying it carefully for a few moments--dang, this was good quality for a tiny plush toy--she looked at Marc, "This isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened..."
To tell or not to tell about Gavin's new ability to also create weapons on a whim...Hmm...

Marc paused. "Not the first time? What else has he done?" deciding that his opinion of the boy was falling (what a cheap way of impressing girls! If he had had a gift like that... well. Never mind about _that_), he watched Haki with worried eyes.
What if Haki asked for a castle next time, and it crushed her?
(So yes, he was just a little bit melodramatic)
Haki though, loved it. Every minute of it and BEAMED. "Gavin good~~" she cooed.

Remi restrained a resigned sigh. Might as well tell Marc, that way if anything dangerous does happen it wouldn't come as a total surprise. Hopefully he'd still let Haki come over.
"Well, a couple nights ago I heard a loud noise in the middle of the night," she explained. "I found Gavin in his room unconscious next to--I think--ninja equipment."
Great save there. No mention of daggers. Gavin smiled proudly at yet another one of Haki's declarations of his awesomeness.
"I wonderful!" he agreed.
A smile tugged at Remi's mouth before she continued. "I talked to Hadrian about it, and he said that it might be one of Gavin's magical abilities surfacing. I'm still trying to figure out what it is, exactly. Obviously, it has something to do with creating stuff."
Though she still wondered how the ninja gear worked into all of this mess...

"Ninja equipment?" The thought of the scarlet hued boy dressed up in camoflouging equipment didn't seem to mesh. The black outfit, and those wings? Stifling a little smirk at the impossiblity of hiding something like _that_ in shadows, he nodded his head.
"Creating isn't such a bad thing" he conceded-- it was if it involved trying to impress his Haki of course, but Marc was like that. "I'd like to speak to Hadrian about it too..." when he had heard that the kids would develop powers, he had never thought it would go to this extent.
He had supposed, that it would involve more simple, basic gifts. Nothing like this.
"Have you spoken to Gavin about toning it down? Controlling it?" who knows what else Haki might ask for, or what Gavin would create?
Haki beamed, nodding. Yes, gifts! She could see the word dancing across her vision-- free gifts for Haki!

"Well, until now I wasn't sure if it was Gavin," Remi explained sheepishly, figuring she would probably have to attempt to tell Gavin not to use his new 'talent' too much. "Hadrian had said 'maybe,' so I was just supposed to keep an eye out for anything strange."
She looked down at Gavin, both worried and curious. Worried that he might not be able to control his creation skills, but also curious as to how far the powers went.
"I guess this counts as strange. I'll have to go talk to Hadrian again too."
Gavin was thinking almost on the same wavelength as Haki. Free gifts for Haki, but also free gifts for him. Now that he figured he'd made himself a parent, maybe now he could make himself like something else too. Except that he was all out of ideas now. He looked to Haki, the source of all answers--well, his answers anyways.
"Try make something now?"
