I played phantom of the opera in an orchestra show today.
We were wroking on it for a while and I was the only violinist who wore the mask.
Thank god for that orchestra- if they hadn't played it I would have never decided to watch the movie.

Cool! We sang it for choir last year. I was the only person who was a Phan though. Which hurt, most of the people were the for the easy A. crying When we sang it during Halloween though, I was already dressed as the Phantom so that was fun! mrgreen

That's so awesome. It's great that you guys are dressing up like the phantom. If I had any money I would do it as well. I wish I played an instrument just for the sole fact that I could play songs from musicals, especially from POTO.

The TNMS choir sang a Phantom medley last year. The only problem is that they're one of the worst choirs I've ever heard.

It wasn't too expensive for me. I found a second hand suit and vest that fit, bought chains for the "pocket watch" from RONA and just used plain gloves. For the neck thing, I got my mom to edit a scarf-thing and for the mask I cut up a full mask and made it myself! The cape was a pain in the butt though, took forever to find one big enough (the ones they mass-produce are soooo small)

The deformed face was fun, I used this weird wax thing and people thought I stuck meat on my face. sweatdrop

That sounds so fun. Have any pictures?

Also, as it turns out, my orchestra is performing most of the other of the songs this spring.

Oh, and I won second place in the costume contest! biggrin I lost to a good friend of mine who made her own Victorian dress. (hoop skirt and everything... she usually does costuming for our plays too) Now THAT was a craaaaazy costume.

Phantom at the auditorium sounds fun! I'd do that except my school is so small we don't actually have an auditorium xd Basically we use the English room since it's bigger than the rest of the rooms and we had curtains installed. Looked decent enough, kind of like one of those school gym theatres (we didn't have a gym either... :LOL smile

Not the school auditorium. The IU Auditorium. You want proof? Click here! *luffeyz*

There was a costume contest? Cool!

sweatdrop I read that wrong. Now it makes sense. lol

The music is going to be live?!? Now that's just awesome.

I have no idea what I'm going to do on Halloween this year. I was originally going to be Jekyll/Hyde except University is evil so I don't have the time (or the money) to pull THAT off. So I'm going as a Monty Python gumby. xd

I was originally going to be the Phantom for Halloween this year, but............ Stupid school rules:

NO FACEPAINT NO MASKS.

That totally kills the point of the costume, doesn't it? (T}_T

So instead, I was a vampire masquerader. smile I love my costume. It is downstairs now with my other ball gown costumes that my friend and I use when we either video tape our phanphics together, or when we entertain her little brother and sister with a little show. wink
