Has anyone else read The Historian, by Elisabeth Kostrova?

I highly recommend it if you like long books with complicated plots. Our premise: Vlad the Impaler really is a vampire, and he's still alive... err... undead today. The story's set in the 20th century, and two history students have uncovered the truth and are racing across Europe to find his grave and stop him. The best thing is that it's not your standard vampire story and nothing in it is trite.

I won't give anything away... but I'm near the end now, and it's been just gripping so far. biggrin

I love that book. I finished it last year, so I don't remember too much of it. I'm reading Anne Rice books now. biggrin

I heard good things about The Historian. I only started reading it, though, so I can't I know much about it first hand.

Later: That was one of the best books ever! The history is largely accurate, too, execpt for Vlad being a vampire and alive. The only fault I can find in The Historian is that the epiloge seemed forced.
