I'm curious. Does anyone have any idea what it is that drives those of the trollish design to post inflammatory thoughts and practices? Do they thrive off the anger it causes, or is there another reason behind it?
Just curious.

Usually those who aggravate others in their free time have their own sets of problems and use their power over others in a twisted, though theraputic way. Others might do it simply because in an online setting they can more easily get away with it. Others might simply do it because they've had a bad day and are unintentinally taking it out on other people online.

It depends on the troll. Some are slightly sociopathic and do it to annoy others, because the annoyance of others amuses them- in short because they think it is funny. With these kind of trolls, I figure encouragement will stop them, because your complaining amuses them. Thus, the book of cool trolls.
