Hey, I have this idea for a story. Will you tell me if I should write it? And if I do, should the gate be left open and everyone deals with the ghoulies, or close the gate with much sorrow?
Setting: It is September 22, the autumnal equinox, and Konoha is preparing itself for the grand festival to celebrate the downfall of Kyuubi. Everyone is excited and happy except for Naruto. He is walking in the forest to clear his head and runs into someone he has thought dead for four years: Haku. He is not a spirit but a healthy living being, just the same as the day he died and with no memories of having died at all. Naruto hides Haku away in his apartment and goes to tell his friends, and all but Sasuke think that he's playing a prank on them and shun him. Sasuke sees how shaken he is and remembers an old wives' tale about a holiday that hadn't been celebrated for hundreds of years. It was Samhain, the day when the veil to the afterlife is thinnest and the dead can walk among the living if they so choose. And it's approaching fast.
When dead people start showing up in all the nations, not realizing they've been dead for days, months, years, people are swept into a panic. A small group of both living and previously-dead have until the day of the festival, October 10th, to find a way to seal the gate between the worlds. If the gateway remains open, then not only will dead people be returned to the world of the living but also demons and evil spirits. These things will be given bodies and let loose amongst the people. And worst of all, you can't kill them But the small group will face many challenges, from both inside and outside. After all, if you were suddenly given a second chance with your father/mother/lover/friend, wouldn't you take it?
