o9.18.o6. Full Moon Festival
The..... Unity Walkers are having their (first time being actually Role-played) Monthly-Full-Moon Festival of Thanksgiving! Fun, socializing, feasting, togetherness, and more to be had for all! This is a chance for the family to come together. If you haven't met the others yet now is the time! With all the new faces and returning family, there's sure to be warmth and good cheer.
When: September 19th, 2006 [Feel free to join whenever you have time. No posting order required!]
Where: The shore of Kiva's shrine [See Map]
Hosts: Kauta [Queen], Mteuli [Ardhi'Mtwaa], Mteule [Mbingu'Mtwaa],
What: The following is the order in which things will take place:
- 1.] The Gathering... In which all of the pride-members will come together as the sun sets below the horizon. Early or late arrivals are fine,
2.] The Welcome... To start off the celebration officially short speeches will be given by the three over-see'ers of the event: A toast, of sorts.
3.] The Feast... To celebrate the pride's good fortune there will be a feast provided by the pride's hunters. Fish, as well as red meat and even an assortment of fruits.
4.] The Socializing... This more or less goes hand in hand with the feasting. At anytime during the feast and after pride members are encouraged to greet and talk with one another. Children play, adults talk, a time to enjoy one another's company.
5.] The Tribute... As the evening winds down the twins (the priests) will call for attention. At this time an offering will be prepared for Kiva and the pride gives their thanks for the various blessings they've had throughout the month. The offering is then sent out into the lake and a moment of silent prayer is observed. After this the pride will say their goodnights and most wander off for sleep. Some may choose to stay behind to clean up after the festivities (carcasses will be disposed of, one of the twins later on retrieves the offering plate, delivering it's contents to the shore of the shrine, etc.).
Anyone with a hunter's status is encouraged to speak with Matifu (the head hunter) to prepare for the event. Nannies will be asked to help look after the little ones to be sure none wander off while the parents are busy speaking. If you're interested in having your SOA help out, feel free to contact us!
