Early dawn and already Rehani was being woken up. She had taken to sleep far longer than need be since her and her mate's cubs had started developing inside. The large tan lioness rolled over, looking at her den. It was the same one where their last litter had been born, even if it had been expanded. It was then that someone inside her decided it was time to wake up. The princess gave a half glare down at her stomach, pawing softly at it as the cubs and her body decided it was time for them to be born. "Denahi," she called out softly. It wouldn't be long now.

Snuggling next to his mate, the larger adult stirred at the female called his name. "hmm Hani?" Denahi murmured tiredly, not fully awake. His eyes opened blearily, unfocusing on his mate beside him. "What wrong?" He asked tiredly, nuzzling his mate in comfort.

Rehani managed to nuzzle back before a sharp pain burst in her. "Our family is about to get bigger, Nahi." She answered, feeling the first of this litter readying itself to enter the world. A small growl escaped her throat, a small tan cub coming to life.

Denahi was speechless. Their months of waiting now meant that their family was actually getting bigger! The adult male held back a frown at the expression of his mate, moving up to give her some more room. He wondered how many there would be. The charcoal adult was excited! He hadn't been here last time! This time, he would make sure his family was teh best.

She came without incident into the world, their fourth cub. The mother looked down, panting slightly. "Denahi, could you clean it, please?" Rehani looked up at him with bright green eyes. This was exciting all over again. The next cub began getting ready to be born.

Denahi nodded quickly. "R-right!" He said. This was all new to him, though not for Rehani! He reached down to the newborn, cleaning the small cub with gentle licks. After a moment of clearing it's muzzle, he took the cub carefully to his mother, allowing the baby to get it's first meal.

Rehani smiled at her mate, watching him clean their newest addition to the family. Or, at least, for a second. The next cub came, Rehani closing her eyes to push it out with a small pained noise. She nodded at Denahi again, eyes flicking between her two new cubs.
