The young female Leopon woke up early this morning... Again. She had a strange dream the night before about catching a large fish in the river, and it was very orange... Little did she know that it was no ordinary dream, but a vision of what would happen the next day. Not a precise vision of course, but a kind of indicator of what would happen in the future.
Kumbuko bounced along from tree to tree, looking for something or someone to play with. Her attention span was incredibly short, if not kept occupied, she would lose interest and move on, which seemed to happen with her latest 'toys', the leaf, the branch, the rock, the flower, and the butterfly. The latter of them all ended with someone knowing that butterflies are not at all tasty.

Lounging around on the ground, the little cheetah male, adult rather than a small adolescent, lounged in the ground lazily. It was such a lazy day! Beautiful...but sooo lazy. Qee rolled onto his side, hearing the sounds of small feet padding across the jungle terrain. They were making quite a racket too! Must've been a kid or something.
Rolling onto his side, golden eyes watched the path, expecting the bearer of noise to show in three...two...one?
Okay...so it was a few moments after that, but there it was. A little blkac...thing? Qee blinked. What was she? Never had the leopard come across something so...strange looking.

Oh look! Someone to play with! she thought as she approached the orange leopard, "Hiya! Kumbuko is very happy to meet you, whats your name mister?" She asked brightly. "Why are you laying down? Today is a fun day! Playing is more fun than laying around!"
Oooh, this guy had a looong tail! Kumbu bounded over to it and began batting at it with her yellow tipped paws, hoping it would move and become even more interesting.

This...kid was interesting. Qee blinked as she bounced towards him, them towards his tail. The only thought that ran through his mind was 'Um...' Blinking, the male shook his head, smirking slightly as his tail began to sway. "It's a lazy day today. An old leopard like me needs his rest you know." Qee grinned. "The names Qee, and your's is?"
The leopard looked at the leopon. "Are you a leopard?" He blurted out, wanting to know.

"Kumbuko." She said in response to his question, following his tail's progress along the ground before pawing at it some more. "Kumbu thinks Kumbu is a leopard... Kumbu's mama is a leopard, but Kumbu does not know Kumbu's father." She said with a shrug.
"Qee, thats a nice name." She said belatedly, "You're really orange." She said bluntly. This girl had a habit of stating the obvious. "You're old? You don't look old, orange is not an old color." She said with a nod.

Qee most certainly wasn't hte wisest of all felines, but something shot out at him that this kid wasn't a leopard. "I see. You don't know your father?" Perhaps it was just one of those up'in kind of things, but the young cub wouldn't know that. "You like refering to yourself as Kumbu don't you?" Like the cub, Qee was one to state teh obvious as well, but by his comment, he meant how she spoke in 3rd person.
"Yes...I am orange" He flicked his tail across the ground, before letting it fly into the air. "I'm older than you." He snickered slightly. "Therefore I am old."

"Yeah, Kumbu likes her name, so Kumbu uses it." She said with a broad grin, watching his tail as it went upwards. She stared at it for a moment before looking at him again. "Everything is older than Kumbu, silly!" She laughed, "Kumbu is not old at all, Bu is older than Kumbu, and Bu is not old."
Kumbu looked around and found a damp leaf, taking it between her teeth and trying to eat it. She knew some creatures ate things like leaves, but she had no idea how they could stand the taste... "Qee, do you like leaves?"

"I take it Bu is...a sibling? Or perhaps a friend?" Qee pondered outloud, not really expecting the black purple leopon to answer him.
At her next question however, he turned to look at her. "Hmm?" He watched her eat the leaves, and grimmaced. "Can't say I am too fond of them." He muttered, shaking his head. "I prefer...rabbits to them" he stated matter-of-factly.

Kumbu nodded, "Yeah, Bu is Kumbu's sister." She said happiliy, spitting out the leaf.
"Kumbu is not too fond of them either, they taste bad. Kumbu not try eating those ever again." She said, sticking her tongue out at the leaf. "Whats a rabbit? Is it like fish?" She asked, cocking her head to one side. She had never eaten anything but fish before.
