Is there some way to get an old gamertag with all your old friends and stats? If so how do you do it? My Xbox 360 which I had for about two weeks had rebate for 3 months of xbox live and 1250 points. It should be coming in 2 weeks or so. Now if I do get my old gamertag will I even be allowed to use the 3 months or is like those trials where you can only use them for new tags?
I don't know what I should do the only games I have is PGR3 and in a day or two I'm planning on getting Saints Row. The only Xbox 1 games I play are Halo 2 and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Soon those games the newer version of them will be released and they'll die out. I probably won't get any new game from Saints Row until Decemberish.
Anyways, As you see I don't have alot of active live games and I was debating if I should just start a new friendslist and try to get mostly Xbox 360 Live players instead of my mostly Xbox 1 inactive old friendslist. I want your opinion. When I first got live cool people were throwing out friend requests to everyone and when I left live I had about 80-90 friends but people don't do that anymore. Therefore it'll be harder for me to build up a fun Xbox Live community to play with.
So can someone anwser my questions and give me advice to start a new one or keep an old one if I can?

On the Xbox 360 Dashboard under the Xbox Live blade (there are four sections called blades, you want the one on the far left) you will be able to "Recover Your Gamertag".

You can only use the point card on 360, so yes you should be able to use it.
As for the 3 month, yes, you should also be able to use that once your account has been transferred over. If it doesn't work I would call Microsoft, which is free anyway, and tell them about the problem.
