Why you joined the Dark Side/background info: Raised on Coruscant, I was brought into the Jedi Order late because my identity had been hidden within an underground slaving operation. Once the operation was thwarted by one of the Jedi Knights, he found my Force abilities strong and brought me forth to the Council. At first there were serious deliberations concerning my fate, but they decided to train me in the end because they had faith that I would overcome my "age behavior".
As I grew in age and knowledge of the Force, I had come across a terrible and disturbing truth. I dreamed about the day I was accepted into the Order, and I came to realize that the Council only let me stay because they feared what would happen to me if they had let me go. It was fear - something that I was taught not to experience - that drove their decision.
It was then that I realized the truth, that the Jedi Council is full of lies and contradicts itself constantly. When I knew this, I sensed that there was more for me out there, a greater power and a sense of truth and understanding on how the Force is really a use. We don't live with the Force - we manipulate it, and use it to our advantage. That is how the Jedi work, because not once have I ever been taught to "ask permission" to use it.
When I learned that this was the influence of the Dark Side, I embraced the truth and fled the Council, abandoning my Master and my teachings. I now come before you to ask for your teachings, your techniques, and your eternal wisdom to guide my new path.

Lord Illuminatus Name: Illuminatus, meaning bringer of knowledge (the way of the dark over the light) Rank: youngling Species: Human Bio: Illuminatus is origionally from Saradwan, a distant planet of harsh storms and strange creatures. He has the ability to see things as they truly are when he wishes, in the form of tiny glowing runes describing every aspect of the object or person in question. He can also change these runes to some degree, though his skill at picking the right one is dubious to say the least. He also has discovered he can produce blacklight colored sparks of static if he tries hard enough. While not Force lightning, it has certainly has allowed him to escape tight situations. Originally quite kind, Illuminatus is now mostly emotionless, haunted by the Jedi raid on his home planet. Determined to destroy the darkness of the planet, the entire colony of force sorcerers was wiped out, his friend and lover among them. He sought out the sith to improve his powers and show the Jedi what they truly did on Saradwan. While only 15, his malice is great and his gaze cold and calculating. Illuminatus generally wears cortosis forearm and shin guards, all in the spike adorned fasion of Saradwan. He also wears a silver shieldvest, a flexible and glossy armor vest that can absorb certain energies. A visorband, a sort of tactical analysis computer headband completes his equipment. I haven't got everything set up yet, but I will begin training younglings again...probably after the Halloween event. You can, however, make a post explaining more about your character though.

Lord Illuminatus Unless not writing an extended bio is a bad idea, I'd rather let my character develop during RP. It's a easier than writing a separate bio and writing too much about my character at once makes me feel conceited. I don't think it's good or bad, just a choice. Some people like to go into detail about their character.

It's a easier than writing a separate bio and writing too much about my character at once makes me feel conceited. I don't think it's good or bad, just a choice. Some people like to go into detail about their character. Like the pages worth of bio that I wrote up for Grim during RP...give me a few minutes and I'll edit this post to have a link to where it starts. I think it took me something like 2 days to fully write that all out. And that was literally just one event in his life. It was also the one event that made him go from a happy "innocent" man to a loony that likes to eat people. For lunch.

I also wrote an extended bio. I was bored, and decided to show a quick look at Illuminatus's past. It took about 20 minutes, and I'm pleased with the result. I really go for the intelligent villains that are cold, calculating and in control. It seems like everyone wants to be morbid and ferocious, but those guys tend to get owned. Violently. Look at Darth Maul: all attack and viciousness, gets owned by a teenage Obi-Wan. Dooku, in the second episode, however, is more measured, intelligent and not overconfident. He owns two people at once. In the third episode, he gets overconfident and quickly looses a rather vital appendage. I'm just tired of the whole pit bull/Hannibal/monster villain that can't adapt to rapidly changing situations.

You haven't seen what Grim evolved to when I was using him in a different RP during this guilds downtime. mmm, manipulated both the jedi and the sith, faked his death, and let the jedi and sith do battle while he did what he wanted to unmolested by people wanting to kill him (jedi) or be trained (sith).

But he's still a rip-your-guts-out-and-eat-them type. If that's what floats your boat, that's fine by me. I just like my character to be a little more measured.
