I'm going to see Death Cab come November, but just a week or two I saw some pretty awesome local stuff.
I went to this sort of underground goth rap show, and there were these guys dressed up like Bethoven and my friend/acquaintance/ex-coworker Chopper Girl was the lead at the end of the night.

I went to a concert with local bands when I was a freshman
Only concert I ever went to
It was fun

I'm going to VirginFest next weekend up in Baltimore.
Or something.
I don't even like most of the bands playing.

It was ******** awesome. The best bands out of the line-up were Hypo Psycho, Hekz, and of course Get Amped. Dun 2 Def were pretty amusing to watch too. The rest weren't terrible, but those are the ones that stuck in my head.
Get Amped were brilliant. I got to go backstage and meet the band, they signed a poster for me, and I chatted with the lead singer for about an hour while they were waiting for their set (everyone got pushed back). And I was right up front when they played, and they played my favourite song 'Rejected & Sterilised' xd I bought some of their merch, and got some given to me for free for being . Plus there was loads of other free stuff being given out over the day, so I came home with a bag full of stickers, badges, cd's and posters. It was definately worth £5.
