Though incredibly nervous, Lance couldn't help but grin. He'd done his best to make as much of the massive mansion as presentable as he could manage on his own, though he did leave Dragonfly's other children's rooms alone; he didn't figure that he would be bringing his friends to such places. Vincent's basement, which was off limits in the most strict of ways, had also been untouched. But the kitchen, dining room, living room, library, and his own bedroom were all spotlessly organized. Oh sure, he hadn't had to do that much work. Likely they wouldn't even make it all around the massive mansion- but he wanted it to be clean even if they didn't! Lance liked to make a good impression, even on people who he'd already met!

He laughed nervously to himself, scaled hands brushing down over the black fabric of his jeans, before a wide grin split upon his features. Chai and Armel were coming over! He hadn't seen Armel since- well. Not since before he'd grown. He'd seen Chai though- she'd been the first that he'd gone to after he'd grown up.

He gazed towards a wall, in the general viscinity of the backyard. Morian, Vincent and Dragonfly had been working hard at getting the tangle of brush, ivy and overgrown weeds at bay, and soon it would be perfect for building the koi pond that Lance had been promised.

Lance strode down the stairs and into the foyer, gazing about a bit, before sitting down on the stairs with a faint sigh, and a small grin.

"Still waiting?" Dragonfly inquired as she emerged from a doorway somewhere on Lance's left. She leaned in the frame, smiling faintly and crossing her arms over her chest, "They'll be here soon, don't worry,"

Lance merely nodded his head to her, and continued to watch the door expectantly.

The mansion didn't look as scary in the daytime, Anemone thought to herself. She didn't even think of holding onto Chailyn's hand, who was skipping merrily along. The tale was lost in giddy thoughts of seeing Lance again and meeting his friend Armel. It was likely that a bomb could've gone off without her noticing.

Dressed casually, Chailyn was ready to play. A white tee hid under her overalls and her hair was pulled back in a french braid. Not that she didn't want to look pretty but she was looking more at the playing the trio could do instead.

"I still think I should've brought presents," she stated briefly looking at her mother. Her attention was easily turned back to the mansion in front of them and she ran the rest of the way. Her small fist rapped on the door as her mother caught up.

By the second knock Lance was on his feet, and by the third he had swung the door open, a wide grin spreading across his lips as he gazed down at Chai.

"Chailyn!" he beamed, reaching to wrap her in a fierce hug, and carry her into the house that way, laughter escaping his lips, "It's good to see you!"

Lance's t-shirt was also black, but the white letters 'VERITAS' and 'AEQUITAS' wrapped in a circle around a celtic cross. Overall his clothes were fairly plain; definately good for playing in.

"M'happy you're here! Armel hasn't come yet- but he'll be here soon I bet!" he gazed towards the open door, as if expecting the other to walk around the corner right then. He didn't see Armel though, but, sooner or later the ram-horned boy would be along.

Dragonfly chuckled at Lance's enthusiasm, before moving to the door to invite Ane in, and closing it behind her.

"I take it he's happy to see her!" Dragonfly laughed, before pulling Ane into a hug; she was glad to see the Tale's author too, after all, she hadn't seen Ane since- well. Not since Ane's birthday at least!

Armel was coming up on the sidewalk quietly crumbling the map he was following and stuffing it into the pocket of his body-length coat with an irritated grunt. The map was good, and it would have been better if he hadn't have been reading it upside down. The ram-horned boy comforted himself with the fact that he had caught the mistake on his own and without anyone there to see his great blunder. His Author, Pales, had insisted on coming along but Armel managed to talk him out of it by some great miracle.

After all how was the boy to learn anything when he was being smother-mothered by his Da?

He was confident he could find the house on his own. Armel walked and almost passed the building but went into a sudden halted and did a few backwards steps and turned his body toward it wobbling somewhat comically. Anyone watching the ram-horned boy's antics would think he had gotten into some alcohol before he went out on a walk.

Armel looked at the house tilting his head slightly to one side, and found himself just mildly disappointed for a moment or two. The boy had expected to hear at least a clap of thunder, but he was greeted with only the twitters of daytime birds.

He walked up to the door and lifted up a fingerless-gloved hand to knock on the door. Armel was excited to see Lance again and to meet his friend.

Anemone returned Dragonfly's hug fiercely, blinking her eyes to keep tears from falling. It'd been much too long since she'd seen her friends and even though she had talked to someone, just hugging someone she knew seemed so much better. Letting her hair fall into her eyes, she turned to look at Lance and Chailyn. A laugh sprung from her lips as she looked at them, "I think he's delighted to see her. And I know she's missed him."

That was probably an understatement as Chailyn clung to Lance. "I missed you, Lance!" she blurted out as soon he had called out her name. She grinned happily knowing today would be fun. "I can't wait to meet him. I-" she stopped turning to face the door. "Is that him?" she asked eagerly.

Dragonfly leaned back after a moment, grinning from ear to ear, before her hand lifted to brush Ane's hair out of her face. The last time she'd seen Ane, her hair had been long, and green- but now it was incredibly short, and black.

"It's been too long," Dragonfly murmured, beaming widly, "You and I need to get togethor more often. Do girly things! Go to a spa, or braid each other's hair," she cut herself off to giggle, if only faintly, "Things like that,"

Lance looked towards the door as a second knock rang out, and he set Chailyn gently down on the floor before moving to swing it open, still grinning widly as his eyes set upon Armel.

Wait.

Was that Armel?

Of course it was. It had to be! He didn't know anyone else with horns like those!

"Armel?" he breathed, before his grin grew wider still, and he laughed, "Good to see you! Look at you! Come in- Come in!" he reached out to catch the other's hand, half-dragging the other inside.

Lance was perhaps a little too eager to introduce his two friends.

"Chai, this is my friend Armel. Armel, this is Princess Chailyn!" Lance beamed, and nodded his head in satisfaction at having introduced them, and then looked towards Dragonfly.

"Come on you two, I'll show you around," he grinned.

There was a soft 'hurk!' sound as Armel was half-dragged into the house. Apparently the boy was going to greet his friend but was suddenly pulled indoors not that he minded one bit. After all, Lance was a friend, and it was always good when someone was excited to see you or so Armel told himself as his heavy boots thudded along the floor as he stumbled lightly across the threshold.

Armel's posture straightened as soon as he was able to stand still and he smoothed out his jacket and bowed lightly toward Chailyn uttering a soft, "Well met, and pleased t'meet ye, Princess Chailyn," as his way of greeting her a bit more formally. He always tried to be at least a little bit gentlemanly when meeting a girl or rather anyone at that, but he seemed to concentrate harder on his manners when around girl-folk.

The boy then glanced at Lance and laughed a bit, "Aye, aye. I'll be right behind you, friend. Seems ye've grown some since the day we met!" Armel noticing changes in anyone (no matter how obvious) was a compliment in itself.

Silence fell over Chailyn as she gave a soft frown. Another tale that was bigger than she was, she noted. She was beginning to feel like she was slow or behind everyone.

Thankfully Lance's introduction made her smile. "It's nice to meet you, Armel!" she said happily. She gave a curtsy even though she wasn't wearing a skirt. Her mood quickly shifted back to cheerfulness and she waved at her mother as she set off to take the tour. "Should we hold hands?" she asked Armel since they would be following their tour guide.

Anemone shifted her attention back to Dee, finally noticing the new hairstyle. "You look so pretty with short hair, Dee!" she smiled, wiping her eyes in the process. "We should get together more often. I hardly ever see anyone anymore," she admitted.

She turned her eyes to Lance, Chailyn, and Armel. Almost all of them had grown. Unlike Chailyn who couldn't wait to grow, Ane quite dreaded that day. She liked having her little girl so small but she supposed everyone had to grow sometime. Hopefully not for awhile though.

"As have you, Armel!" Lance replied with a laugh, "My mum says you haven't gone ta see Morian yet- well. When you do try an' make his life a living hell for me eh?"

Lance chuckled a little darkly then, still obviously not approving of his mother's relationship with the light blue haired fiend.

Lance grinned a little as Chailyn questioned if she and Armel should take each other's hands, and Lance nodded in his approval. "Aye, I think that would be a swell idea for you two. It's a big house; real easy to get lost. I won't walk too fast though, promise!" he laughed.

He then turned to begin leading them up the stairs, his fingers running over the ancient wooden banister as he walked.

"I'll show you around the upstairs first, since there's generally less to see up there. Then we can head back downstairs an' wander around there a bit. Mum convinved Marcus to make some cookies, and things of that like, so we can snack and stuff," he glanced back at them, smiling sheepishly and feeling like perhaps he was talking a bit too much.

"You think so?" Dragonfly murmured, scrunching up her face, her long ears wiggling in a comic fashion, "I wasn't so sure- especially since the only reason I had to cut it short was because one of my newer adopted children is a bit of a brat. She cut my hair while I was sleeping,"

Dragonfly sighed a bit, lifting one hand and mussing up the short locks, "She didn't cut it this short- but what was left was hardly salvagable..."

She trailed off then, flicking her golden eyes back to her friend, and beaming widly.

"Ah! That we should! I don't get out of this stuffy mansion enough either," she frowned a bit, as though she was trying to recall why that was, "But you're here now! Would you like to stay for a little while? Perhaps we could have some tea on the back porch- Vinny and I just finished fixing it up. The lawn still needs er.... Extensive work, but at least there's somewhere nice to sit back there now,"

((Sorry had a small bit of PostingMuse-death. I revived her though!))

Armel grinned lightly at Lance's response and comment. The ram-horned boy nodded a bit, "Aye, I'll try to, Lance." He intoned as a promise. Knowing Armel it'll probably be subtle (if not blatant).

The boy glanced at Chai and then back at Lance before smiling and nodding, "I'll consider it an honour t'be holdin' th' hand of a lovely lass such as ye," Armel replied cheerfully as he offered his own hand to the younger Tale. He didn't treat her as if she were any younger or older than he.

Chailyn giggled at Armel's comment. She liked him already and she grinned taking hold of his hand. She grinned following Lance up the stairs, trying to be careful so that she didn't trip and slow them down. Of course that was only half helpful considering she was completely filled with excitement.

"That sounds wonderful, Dragonfly. I'd love to stay for awhile." Anemone smiled as she slipped her arm around Dee. She tilted her head in thought. "I'm sure with a brother like Lance, your new child we'll grow to be just as sweet. We'll just have to make sure if anyone with long hair spends the night that they wear helments," she teased lightly.
