(( Ok, this is just a continuation of an rp Keppit and I started in the main thread... which we kinda lost track of and lost. sweatdrop We wanted to finish and so we're using pm's and I'm postin it in here so people can have a gander and also to clear my inbox. xd
The plot up until now..... Is that Sidney and D came to the shop where D began to nap on the couch (the lazy girl she is! xd Heehee!) But it gave Sidney a chance to play with Keppit and her velvet plush toad. Keppit is 'pretending' to be the plush since it's not alive yet. Oh and the name 'Willie' was simply something Sidney suggested to call her since the plush was not yet named. It's from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"... what else?! blaugh )) ______________________________________________
Keppit knealt behind Willie again and picked up her little arm... "OF course I have my wits about me..." She scratched the back of her head with a sliver or worry. She had hardly taken another step up behind Sid when he stopped and pointed.... and there in front of her was the great trunk - er - chest. But there didn't seem to be any headhunters yet.... Keppit on the other hand didn't have the steadiest of hands, what with being a zombie and all, and she hadn't really set one of the plush toys down straight... and it had taken this long to fall over, down in plain sight. Willie jumped suddenly as a headhunter leapt around the corner... she thought that they wouldn't have a chance to do anything, but the headhunter tripped and fell flat on it's face... Willie stepped behind Sid, in truth she was a little scared...
Keppit, meanwhile, righted the headhunter plush (a small monkey of some sort) and made it advance on the two a little... nothing too threatening.
"Careful! There'ss one now!" Sidney cried as the plush made it's rather undignified appearance. But that didn't matter too much when you were playing pretend. He held up his whip, trying to look tall while Willie stuck behind him. Well he figured, he was armed and so had a better chance against any headhunters. Plus Willie hadn't met any before.
"Are you the leader of your tribe?" He called out to the monkey plush and then whispered to Willie over his shoulder. "Don't worry, you jussst have to beat their leader and then none of them will hurt you."
Keppit quickly glanced around the plushes behind the Chest and made the monkey do so as well.... There were a few birds, a horsish character, a racoon, a porcupine and a lion.... That was it... She grabbed the lion and made it walk forward up next to the monkey... then the monkey and the others all came around and stood behind the lion... then the lion hit himself twice on the chest and growled.... "I think that means he's the leader right?" Willie asked from behind Sid... "You know what you're doing right?"
"I think it does too..." Sid whispered back to the toad. "But don't worry I know what to do. I'm a great explorer you ssee? And you always have to have a plan when you're a great explorer. Or a ssurviving explorer anyway. Watch thisss..."
He slithered over to the great big lion plush and raised himself up before begining to shift and slide his coils around and about on the ground behind him. So much shifting and sliding of scales it seemed to be a massive swirlling of dark green stripes. Sometimes it even looked like the stripes were moving on their own! A rather confusing thing to witness. But what Sidney was doing, was using his hypnotic powers on the plush. Of course they wouldn't work on a stuffed toy but as he wasn't directing it at anyone else, no one else would fall under it's effects. ((which was basically a sort of sleep with their eyes open))
After a while he stopped and turned to Keppit. "Umm... I hypnotised him ok? But plushies don't really get hypnotised so we just have to pretend."
Keppit grinned and tried not to laugh.... The headhunter swayed from side to side a little before steadying himself. For a split second he looked confused but then he stood there with his frontpaws drooping and a silly, very unheadhunterlike grin on his face.... "What did you do?" Willie took a hesitant step over towards Sid. "He looks sick all of a sudden...."
And indeed all the other headhunters looked at their leader and then imitated him on purpose... apparently this was a custom in their culture.
Sidney grinned too, pleased that Keppit had gone along with his plan. If she didn't believe him then he would have had to try it on her to prove he could do it. blaugh
"He's dazzzed." Sidney explained to his companion. "I hypnotissed him and put him to ssleep. Sspecial power I have. Ssee? I had a plan all along." He states proudly. He then stepped up before before all the headhunters. Well, slithered since he didn't have any feet. "Look!! I have overcome your leader! And all of you too! You sshall let uss passs unharmed and I will return you all to normal." Ok, a bit of showing off for his new friends. sweatdrop
With one sweep of a zombie hand Keppit parted the back of the headhunter circle and then took up Willie with her other hand. Willie stepped unharmed up to where Sid was.... "That's impressive." She turned to Sid... "Promise me that you'll never do that to me ok?" She looked around and let her eyes rest on the trunk (but not without sidelong glances to the headhunters) "We're here Sid. What now?" Keppit couldn't help but poke a headhunter in the head and watch him topple over. She wondered to herself if it was possible to hypnotize a zombie and made herself a promise to try and not find out. Chances were that you could.
Sidney chuckled in his hissing way. "Heehee, ok. It's fine though. I've practisssed it on D a couple of times. Just knockss you out. Or at leasst that'ss what she saysss. Sso the mice never know."
He slithers right up to the chest, touching it with his hands in awe. As if it were the great Ark from the last Indiana Jones film. "Yess! We made it!" He pauses. He had no way of opening it with no key. But he could work that into their game. Turning to Willie he grins. "Well now we can say we found it. Ssaw it with our own eyesss!"
Willie couldn't help but glance up at chest and then imitate Sid and walk over to it.... placeing both her little frog hands on the trunk next to Sid's.... "Well in order to tell anyone that we saw it we'll have to get out of here alive first.... we might even need proof that we were here." She put her ear to the chest and then gave it a thump with her hand.... "What do you think is in it?" Keppit grinned to herself... this was indeed a treasure chest.
"Hmmm.... good point." Sidney agreed. "But we know the way back now ssso it'll be eassier. But proof.... I don't know. A picture maybe?" He was a bit stuck with that point. He knew they couldn't take the chest. It belonged to Iris. But what sort of proof could they get?
While he pondered this he watched the toad listen to the contents of the chest. "Well a great treassure of coursse!" He grinned and exclaimed. "We were in it! But we can't open it, it'ss locked you ssee? Only for special people with keyss." He grinned at Keppit too when he said this.
Keppit grinned back. Someday Willie would be as articulate and animated as Sid, and she could only hope that the little toad would be as nice and excitable as Sid.... She could only hope. Willie stopped and appeared to think over the trunk... It was nice, but it was big and it was also locked.... "We could... er... Take a peice of clothing or something from a headhunter?" But the headhunters weren't really wearing any clothing... so.... not really. "Er...." Keppit leaned over and spoke to Sid.... "I usually have a disposable camera in my bag. I can take a picture if you like, but you'll probably have to hypnotize a headhunter to take it." She winked at him.... Keppit couldn't help but like Sid. He was a neat kid.
"Hmmm.... that'ss an idea." But when he looked over to them he realised too that they were just plush toys and weren't wearing anything. Plus that'd be the same as taking something from Iris. He'd rather not do that. But they needed something!
When Keppit suggested the camera he nodded excitedly. "Oh yess! That's what explorerss do! They take picturess to sshow people. Can we take one pleasse Keppit? Oh I think I can manage that!" He immediately went to work on getting a head hunter hypnotised and then dragging it (as best he could) into place so it could take his and Willie's picture.
Keppit left Willie in a position where she could watch Sid hypnotize the headhunter while she ran over to the door where she had dropped her rucksack. "camera, camera, camera, ewwwww..." She made a mental note to clean the bag out when she got home... and then there was the camera in the front pocket of the bag, looking no worse for the wear Keppit usally put her belongings through... She turned it over and glanced at the number of pictures left over... eight, that's ok. They only needed one... She glanced up at Willie and smiled. It looked like the plush was watching Sid. Of course Keppit had set her that way, but still.
Keppit walked back over to Sid and Willie and the lucky headhunter who had suddenly found himself in a change of career and sat down on the floor... She used her stocking to give the lens of the camera a quick polish and then with a grin at Sid she set the camera down in the Head hunter's lap and brought Willie over to Sid... Willie turned and looked up at the trunk... "I thought that they'd never have believed us, Sid... I don't know if even I believe it yet..." She laughed. "If you had told me this morning that I would have jumped a giant gorge on an adventure to find a giant treasure chest with one of the world's better adenturers then I... well I.... I wouldn't have believed you." She turned and put a little hand on Sid's shoulder... "You're a good hypnotist that's for sure... Say cheese!"
Keppit said the last part as she returned to the Headhunting photographer and knealt all the way down beside him. That way she could see through the viewfinder and would be sure to get a good picture. She waited for Sid's ok to take the picture.
"That'ss what makes adventuring sso fun!" Sidney nodded and explained, quite tickled by her calling him one of the world's better adventurers. "And thankss. I've been practisssing it." He watched eppit set things up and clean and check her camera. He hoped it worked otherwise they wouldn't have anything to show for their efforts.
When she seemed ready to go, crouching behind the plush toy to opperate the camera for him, Sidney struck a pose and grinned. "Cheesssse!"
*CLICK*
Keppit heard the satisfactory click of the camera shutter and she supposed that Sid and Willie had been blinded by the flash, as was per normal procedure with cameras. She looked up at the two of them grinning and momentarily worried that the flash would have done something to Willie, but no... still sitting there still as ever.
Keppit dropped the camera back into the lap of the headhunter photographer and patted him on the head. "Thanks pal." and then she reached over and took up Willie again. "So Sid, who's the first person that you're going to tell all about this adventure?" She brushed a peice of lint off her leg.... Keppit had a thing about lint....
Sidney did indeed blink at the bright flash. Being very snakey still, he tended not to blick as often as other people or velvets but the flash had blinded him for a second and he closed his eyes instinctively to protect them.
He turned and watched as Keppit put the camera down. "Will you get it out ssoon? On paper I mean? I don't know how to do it." He asked her and then went back to focus on Willie as the zombie took control of her once more. "Who will I tell firsst? Why D of courssse!" He exclaimed with a fang-baring grin and pointed over to where the young woman still slept soundly on couch. She hadn't woken up the entire time but Sidney didn't mind that. He had Keppit and Willie to play with and if they weren't there, well he would have found something to do. You could always go exploring and adventuring by yourself.

She turned to Sid and gave him a quick salute... "As soon as I get it developed then I'll get you a copy." she winked at him.... Willie had a short moment of disorientation before she turned to Sid, apparently in thought. "I think I'll tell the first person that asks me how my day was." For some reason Keppit was reluctant to have Willie acknowledge her... What would the small frog end up thining of her? Would little Willie call her Mom? Mum? Keppit? Hey you? Thing? ... all of Keppit's family called her different things... But that didn't mean that they didn't really like her... except Saty... that was almost a hopeless battle.... Keppit brought her attention back to the moment and righted the Toad plush which had slumped to the floor when Keppit spaced off. "So... how's the best way to get back where we were before?" Willie hopped up and down a little... "If that's indeed where we're going.... Was there anything else on your adventurer's list today?"

"Thanksss!" Sidney nodded to Keppit. "I want to show D too, not just tell her."
Then seeing as the little plush was speaking again he turned his attenton to her. "Oh? Who do you think you'll met firsst? How about the person you live with? Or don't you live with anyone?" He waited patiently while Keppit seemed to daze off. "Well, we can go back the ssame way if you want. We know where we'll be going in that casse. I didn't really have anything elsse planned to do today but that doessn't mean we have to do nothing!" He grinned but then looked over to Keppit. "Are you tired? You seemed kinda... sslow then?" He was referring to the little moment where Keppit had been thinking. Of course he didn't know that's what she had been doing.

"Oh it's ok Sid. I was just thinking, nothin to taxing though" She laughed and wiggled Willie a little. She really was cute for a frog. "I would love to do more things with you... You seem to have really good adventures." Wille took a small hop forward and seemed to survey the couch and surrounding area. "Did we come this way?" She looked around again... "It really have no sense of direction...." Keppit grinned to herself. If she was a four inch tall toad then she might have trouble with directions too.

Sidney grinned with delight. Ah a fellow explorer! And a willing one at that! "That's be great, yeah we'll have some good adventuress. You'll have to come over and play at my housse, not just here in the sshop. We can go explore the attic and sstuff. It's pretty ssspooky up there." He started to get carried away with the sort of places they could explore and play in next.
He stopped his thoughts though when Willie asked which way they came. "Ah, that'ss why you need a map." He pulled out the scrap of paper from his bag and laid it out to show the toad. "Here..." He said, tracing a squiggly line with his finger. Whatever was on the paper didn't look like much but presumably Sidney understood it. He had drawn it after all. "... thisss iss where we sstarted and this isss the way we came.... ssooo.. we'd be here! And that'ss the way back." He looked up and pointed back to the couch. "Up the mountain!"
