Just because... This song's been in my head for a looong time...The reason why Carrie had to come out of her grave.
Memory -- Cats, the Broadway Version.
Daylight, see the dew on a sunflower And a rose that is fading Roses wither away Like the sunflower, I yearn to turn my face to the dawn I am waiting for the day.
(Now old Deuteronomy just before dawn Through a silence you feel you could cut with a knife Announces the cat who can now be reborn And come back to a different jellicle life.)
Memory, turn your face to the moonlight, Let your memory lead you Open up, Enter in. If you find there the meaning of what happines is Then a new life will begin.
Burnt out ends of smokey days, The stale cold smell of morning The streetlamp dies, another night is over. Another day is dawning.
Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise I must think of a new life And I musn't give in. When the dawn comes tonight will be a memory too And a new day will begin.
Sunlight, through the trees in summer Endless masquerading Like a flower as the dawn is breaking The memory is fading.
Touch me, its so easy to leave me, All alone with the memory Of my days in the sun. If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is. Look, a new day has begun.

I'm a really huge Pillows fan. I mean, they're the first rock band ever I can honestly say "Hey, I'm a fan of them." with pride and honesty. Their music is so varried thanks to their song writer, and vocalist Yamanaka Sawao who I personally feel is a genius. A lot of you guys will know them from the anime Furi Kuri/Fooly Cooly/FLCL.
Just so you know, they are a Japanese rock band so the lyrics are broken English and completly absurd to boot.
There's a song of their's I absolutely love to sing along with, although the broken English is nearly impossible to actually keep up with. In the end my version is "I waaaant to see you again some day! OooOOo! So leeeeeave me alone, away wit'chu! OooOOoO! Nyan-n-n-n lalalalalaandmorenonsense." That song is Advice, and certainly Sawao isn't flexing his muscles on this one. But it's a fun song and I'd like to share the lyrics with you.
"You easily get angry over trifles" "Take that seriously because it's important" "Please, don't lose your temper, don't get excited" "I still have a great deal more to tell you"
I want to see you again someday So, leave me alone. Away with you!
"You are good for nothing, also mocker" "You are rotten at inside and outside" "Tidy yourself up! Shame on you!" "I don't dislike you, but I don't make friends"
I want to see you again someday So, leave me alone. Away with you!
I want to see you again someday. So leave me alone. Away with you! Everyone told me that I was wrong I have nothing to do with it! They gave me a lot of advice I don't want to have anything to do with you!

Hooray for the Pillows! As muchas I am a fan of them as well, though, nothing can beat my alltime favorite j-rock band; L'arc En Ciel. Most of you know them for either the second opening to Full Metal Alchemist, the ending to Ruroni Kenshin (both the movie and the series), or the opening to DNA.
A lot of people don't know, however, that they were also used by Square Enix (at the time Squaresoft) to do the ending theme to "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within." It was a major hit in the U.S. and even made it to the big screen because of the flowing 3-D animation that made the Final Fantasy games famous.
They are the only Japanese rock band, to my knowledge, that have had a music video air on MTV in the U.S. Their ending song for the Final Fantasy movie was titled "Spirit Dreams Inside" and was written entirely in English. Not only is it in Enlgish, but it's comprehendable. The entire four man band has an exquisite gift for the English language and uses it to their advantage to market overseas.
without further ado:
Spirit Dreams Inside
I wake up from a nightmare now In the day it haunts me It slowly tears me apart With dreams of a distant love I'm a wandering satellite
Somewhere in the wasteland I see you smiling at me A vision out of my dreams Will everything change ? Take the pain away Lead me with your light
Heading for the sun Leave the sadness behind Crossing oceans dry Yeah
My world spiining out of time Won't somebody stop me ? I may be losing my way Will you make it right ? Take the pain away Hear me as I cry
Heading for the sun Leave the sadness behind Crossing oceans dry Deep inside I go
Spirit dreams inside Spirit dreams inside
What can I do, I ask ? There's nothing left to say What can I do, I ask ? There's nothing left to say Why am I here ? Why am I lost ? Where is love/ Lead me with your light
Heading for the sun Leave the sadness behind Crossing oceans dry Deep inside I go Heading for the sun Leave the sadness behind Crossing oceans dry Deep inside I go
Spirit dreams inside Spirit dreams inside Spirit dreams inside Spirit dreams inside
[insert HYDE fangirl screamings and various foamings at the mouth here] ^^

On a side note, in response to Drunken Neko's comment about a Japanese band being aired on MTV.. There's also this insanely obscure Japanese band who covers a lot of songs (Beat Crusaders) who did music for a commercial I saw running a few days ago. It caught me by surprise, to the point where I had to run out to the living room to see if my ears were decieving me. If anyone is curious, that song was "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone." Although granted I can't remember if that was just a verse from the song or if it was the song title itself. xd
Anyway. Today is a special day for me, it marks the 21st month that Carol (You know her as Demise) and I have been together. So, I wanted to dig out a special song for the occasion. I want to give it some backstory though just so you know the importance of the song.
It was the Autun of 2004, I had started a little role play which has been mentioned a few times around the guild. Jekyll de Hyde, it was just a fun little concept to help me pass the time, which ended up being one of my greatest [original] works. It is in this role play I played two characters, Midori a brooding bat boy who was turned into a woman by a curse that a goblin placed upon him.
Then, there was Hakkan Gorotsuki, you know him now as 'Ha'kan.' Mimi was also present in this role play, and needless to say this was the point in time they got together. I would like to point out this would be the first time AnqeIicDemise and I met. Ha'kan quoted lyrics from a song, because at that point in time, he was heavily into music.
Since this time, it has become a song both of us reconize as 'our song.' That song is 12gatsu no Love Song.
Before you know it, the city's overflowing with the December hustle and bustle While waving your small hand, you call out the name of your precious person
Enveloped in lovers' kindness, winter visits this city just a little bit early
You're my precious, so forever, always, smile You're my beloved, so I will always hold only you...
While looking at a show-window, two people pass by, arms around each other While waiting for you, thoughts ride off on white breaths
As powdered snow dances down from the towering sky, our distance softly closes
In the silent night, I whispered into your ears, once again I softly murmured those words
You're my precious, so forever, always, smile You're my beloved, so I will always hold only you...
I will hold you forever...
Hold only you...

Well I figured I'd contribute something here. xd
Anyway, so while I'm not a big fan of country, this song in particular has struck my funny bone on so many different levels. Mainly because I know folks that have done the exact same thing. And guys, in case you ever do break up, all you have to do is follow this guide:
she said, "i need sometime to find myself, i need a little space to think. maybe we should start seeing other people. baby, things are moving way to fast for me." so, i, i picked up what was left of my pride, and i put on my walking shoes, and i got up on that high road, and i did what any gentleman would do.. i, um...
[chorus] i got a brand new girlfriend. we went and jumped off the deep end, flew out to LA for the weekend, spent the whole day, lyin' on the beach, wearin' nothin' but a smile, playin' kissy-kissy, smoochy-smoochy, talkin' mooshy-mooshy bout nothin'. man, i think im on to somethin', yano i feel just like a kid again. i got a brand new girlfriend.
[verse: 2] i love it when she calls me butter cup, laughs and says i left the toilet seat up, she pops the top for me a cold beer, and says my buddies always welcome here. when i get hungry, she takes me out. i ride the shotgun like a shitzu hound. my tails a waggin', my tounges hangin' out, it makes me wanna shout...
[chorus] i got a brand new girlfriend. we went and jumped off the deep end, flew out to LA for the weekend, spent the whole day, lyin' on the beach, wearin' nothin' but a smile, playin' kissy-kissy, smoochy-smoochy, talkin' mooshy-mooshy bout nothin'. man, i think im on to somethin', yano i feel just like a kid again. i got a brand new girlfriend.
wooo... cute, cute, cute...
she likes to write our names in the sand. shes hearing wedding bells and making plans. shes gonna hang around a while i guess. she hasnt even told me she loves me yet.
[chorus] i got a brand new girlfriend. we went and jumped off the deep end, flew out to LA for the weekend, spent the whole day, lyin' on the beach, wearin' nothin' but a smile, playin' kissy-kissy, smoochy-smoochy, talkin' mooshy-mooshy bout nothin'. man, i think im on to somethin', yano i feel just like a kid again. i got a brand new girlfriend.
she makes me feel just like a kid again, i gotta brand new girlfriend.
