With a delightful tinkle of bedangling jewels, the fair baku turned towards the utterance of his name in mild surprise. Xi, of all people, had traveled this far from the palace to search him out. If that were the case, his message had to be of some significance.
They desired his council? The notion was flattering, to be sure, but it disheartened the delicate dreamkeeper to know that he was being forced to depart from such a delightful encounter. With a soft sigh, the baku turned to face Kasotou, mild dissapointment fliting across his serene features.
"I'm terribly sorry, Sir Kasotou, but it seems I must end our...interesting conversation." the youthful baku said, an apologestic smile painting itself delicately onto his face. In a sudden realisation, his face brightened once more.
"If you'd like," Tye remarked. "You are more than welcome to visit me at the palace. I'm sure no one will mind." he offered cheerily. "I feel terrible for departing so suddenly. Please, do pay me a visit at any time." he uttered pleasantly, a repectful bow sending his jewels ajingle once more before turning to face his fellow Baku.
"What has happened that requires such immediate council, if you don't mind my asking?" Tye inquired of Xi, his head cocking to the side curiously. It wasn't every day that one was summoned so unexpectedly, after all....

((Hope you don't mind if I remove Kasotou from the scene. xD He's being unresponsive, besides it's not like he'd be following along anyway.))

((Oh by all means! ))
Turning on his heel, Xi motioned Tye to follow. The quiet swish of his cape was the only sounds of movement, for it seemed to most men that Xi was a floating spectre. A masked face turning to Tye, the hollow sounds of Xi's voice gave Tye the answer that he sought.
"I just ate a dream," Xi began. "And instead of the usual cursing and screaming that the Kami's nightmares seem to put up, this one was almost... happy, for lack of a better word, to be taken away. It felt just like any nightmare in power and in size, but it had displayed very peculiar behavior."
Reaching the mountainous staircase that led up to the palace, Xi laid a hand on Tye's shoulder. Channeling mana into both of their feet, the pair rose up into the air and then pushing along the mana, they ascended the stairs with barely any effort. Quite handy for those who would have otherwise have problems seeing the Kami.
"Since you have the most knowledge about the nightmare's behavior, as well as interpretation," Xi began again, "The Kami and I agreed that you would be the best person to seek counsil. Moreover, it's not that often that I eat a dream that leaves the Kami and I worried."

Tye nodded thoughtfully in response to the much needed, albeit vague, explanation. Happy nightmares were not something one ran across very often, and it perplexed the fair baku as to why one would be plaguing the Kami so. This was going to require his full attention, but first off, he needed more specific information.
"Tell me, Xi; was there anything odd about the nightmare? Something other than it's behavior when it was being devoured? Perhaps it was not a nightmare at all...perhaps it was just a misinterpereted dream." Tye suggested. There had been a few dreams the baku had run across in his lifetime that were mistaken for less malicious nightmares...Though, even then, the visions let out sorrowful cries as they were separated. To have one make no noise at all? That was something Tye had never run across before. He quickly nixed his first theory of a misinterpereted dream and quickly started mulling over other ideas in his head.
"Perhaps we should speak with the Kami to see just what, exactly, the vision revealed to him. there might be something that we can use to explain it's bizare lack of resistance." Tye stated simply. The baku's fine brow suddenly knit together in concern as he looked up at his fellow dream eater. "This is a might unsettling, Xi...I've never heard of a nightmare not putting up a struggle..." he murmured, his mind scrambling for some kind of explanation.

If the sun had been shining those around the outer coutyard could have been easily fooled, by the heavy white cloud that seemed to linger, trapping the heat, and pulling about the place a light shimmering of ice and frost.
The soft sway of the bountiful trees, seemed to be more a shiver, as a icy wind took their branches in it’s claiming fingers, dancing the strange dance of winter’s frost.
There, within the maze of white birch and gray sakura, danced a figure. Her robes of white, pure against the suddenly green grass background, and the purple-gray-green forefront. Black hair hung long and loose, except for the single pin in the deep ebony curls. A glimmering crystal in the ominous locks, the shape of a snowflake, a large sapphire at it’s center, claiming the glints of sun that sparkled on the frost about the figure. All would stop to stare at these creatures. These spirits of supreme beauty, who could claim them with just one frozen kiss, one artic touch. It was as the spiny pine stood graceful in the flowing white of winter, the Yuki-onna stood, her hands folded within the wide expanse of her sleeves, and held before her, as if she was a innocent, waiting for the eyes of her lover to befall her beautiful pose. Icy blue eyes watched the patches of blue escape the frosty white of the sky, as she waited, her alabaster skin burnished by but a blush of a rosy hue, false to the naked eye, a trick of light. The ruby lips, were seductively drawn, as a soft tongue traced them. It was a beautiful face, high cheekbones, and a elegant chin that curved to the elongated neck, that was drawn and covered with the high necked kimono robe, just enough of the pure white skin peaked out as the wind lifted the mass of jet hair from her back, twisting it about the petite form of the lady, waiting.
Meiling walked the lonely mornings and evenings, as both the sun and moon still graced the sky with their glorious presence, her fingers gently caressing the beauty about her, yet for just a moment, before ice crystals formed and froze the beauty in a frosty case. Soft purrs and sighs would escape her lips as she felt cheated for the warmth that she longed for. Each day was always the same, as she would try to face the sun and feel the golden warm hands of the searching rays on her skin, but would forever feel the chilly wind that danced about her, no matter where she went.
She was the ice dancer, the snow queen, the seducer who claimed the lives of so many a man or woman had gone astray, and still. The soft breaths lingered, before she found the lonely bench beneath the flowering Sakura tree. Waiting.

A swirl of white robes and a soft down of newly fallen snow, the image of sedate perfection disappeared.
When a Yuki-Onna is born, she is left to wander the lonely stretch of land she last lived. Forever remembering their bitter end. They would search for a lover who could warm them, love them and in the end give them a full and happy life. Yet there were a choice few. So exquisite in their beauty, so new to both life and love, that get taken by the Great Kami- To be a joyful bit of entertainment, with music and dance, and a grateful companion. They were very much depressing spirits, when forced to wander alone, but with the Kami as their ruler and master, they felt as they did before they died.
Meiling moved as if she hovered above the floor. Her fluid movements appeared graceful, elegant, a dance in it’s most simplest forms. Her voice echoed in the great hall as she spoke in her soft, delicate manner. “You called upon me, my dear Great Kami?” Meiling asked as she bowed deeply before the Kami. The jet black hair fell over her delicate shoulders. “Play for me, Meiling. I need your soothing tune.” Meiling moved to the Kami’s side, gently kneeling to the ground, her right hand moving within the gentle fold of her kimono wrap. Pulling out a small silver flute, slowly she placed the mouth of the flute to her moist ruby lips and prepared to play.
Softly, gently, the music flowed, echoing through the air. Diving, dancing on the breeze. A sad tune, depressing, yet beautiful all the same. Meiling wouldn’t stop until the Kami asked her too and that usually rarely happened.

Xi could only give a nod in reply. The matter was strange enough to only give a gesture, let alone anything knowledgeable in reply. "It's a disturbing matter to say the least," Xi said. "I doubt that it's anything too serious, but there's no reason why we can't be careful."
Oh trust me. It's serious.
Xi stopped dead in his tracks. He had heard the voice, and he was pretty sure that Tye had heard it too, for the words had escaped through Xi's own mouth. But they were different that Xi's usual persona. It was more dark, more humerous certainly, but the air about him was clearly distinct. "You can't be serious," Xi began.
Would you rather me be humerous.
"How the hell?"
Don't worry about the how, just worry about the now. Oh a rhyme! Aren't I clever?
Xi's eyes darted back and forth inside his mask. He turned to Tye and though he couldn't see him, there was a tone of exasperation in his voice as he said, "Tye, get the Kami now. This is serious."
What's with you and this serious business? You must have never been given a sense of humor.
"I don't think a nightmare would have any higher power to judge my humor or not."
And what makes you say that? You're one to judge awefully quick.
"Judge? I jabber, jumble and juxtapose my janger, but never judge, you jaunty jester, for whom I lack jocularity in your jovial jesting."
....Right....

A nightmare possesion?
Well, that was a new one on Tye, to say the least. He'd heard of Particularly stubborn nightmares taking root in a kami's brain, if only to make it more difficult to be removed, but never in his afterlife had he encountered a nightmare wit henough intelligence to latch on to something other than the mind of it's birth.
This was problematic. Interesting beyong belief, but problematic.
Tye watched the conversation between the spectre and the Baku posessed, his fine brows knitting together before giving a soft nod at the order to fetch the Kami. He did as he was told, but not without the subject matter in tow. Tye deftly took hold of Xi's hand and led him along in the wake of his hurried yet balanced steps as he spoke.
"Tell me, spectre. Why, pray tell, did you choose to leave your mind of birth? I admit, your actions puzzle us both greatly." The fair Baku spoke as he walked. The only thing he could do at this point was keep the nightmare talking as much as possible. If they were to lose connectivity with it before reaching the kami, it would prove to be a worthless effort to disturb them, and he had a feeling this abnormally cheery nightmare would do just that if given the opportunity...

Sorry, I don't converse with weak-minded people like yourself, was the spectre's reply. It makes me feel less intellegent.
Folding his arms across his chest, Xi gave a small huff and unknowingly closed his eyes. "This will get annoying really fast," he muttered more to himself than Tye. Bracing for the reply, it didn't appear. Yet another surprising turn of events. "Curious," Xi said after a while. "It appears he went away. Though I imagine he's corrousing with some of the other nightmares trapped in this mask of mine." Standing up straight, Xi looked to Tye with a gesture of the hand. "Let's be off to the Kami now. Better seize this opprotunity of silence while it's available."
Resuming their normal pace, Xi and Tye approached the Kami's bedroom doors, about as tall as any mountain on earth. "Whoever said bigger was better clearly hadn't thought of convenience," Xi muttered as he swung open the smaller door for the more lowly creatures that would enter the bedroom. Stepping out to the floor, Xi began his greeting. "Great Kami, I have returned with... oh... Meiling." It was always a surprise to see the Yuki-Onna about, let alone stationary. Rare was her presence about the castle for she was mostly a solidary creature, breath-taking but highly unusual. Even her charms were great enough to make the baku lose his train of thought. Catching himself, Xi resumed. "It appears that you are busy, Your Majesty," he said. "My apologies. We'll wait until you have finished with Meiling's counsil."

The Icy blue eyes lifted up toward Xi, as her song was interrupted. The brush of long black lashes fell softly against the gentle curve of her ivory cheek and if it were possible a small ammount of embarassed blush would have claimed her face. Meiling turned her delicate face to the Kami, who nodded, allowing the spirit peace to leave. Meiling stood, her hands folding slowly within the length of sleeve as she made her way to move past Xi and Tye. Meiling bowed her head to the pair, "Xi. Tye." Her dark hair fell about the slender shoulders, as she lifted her eyes slightly to their faces, though concealed, were so very familiar to her.
