...Even though Jan was of the belief that kids really shouldn't be going to psychiatrists, when it came to situations like this little albino boy's - he was an albino, right? - she just had to wonder... "Black widow... boy?" she muttered, somewhat challenged by the thought.

These people here on Gaia, no reservations whatsoever. They found something they might be able to do, there were no questions of moral implication, they crawled all over it at the drop of a pin. She supposed that made her comparitively conservative. WHATEVER. There were questions worth asking, you know?

"Yeah. This... place. They combine human DNA with an animals in an attempt to get them... more attuned?... to dragons. I'm not sure of all the details. I was looked up to be a guardian for Jett," Raven shrugged, as if that explained everything, though she knew it didn't.

"It's a long story, basically. Each of them has a story-- some of them longer than others."

Jan hid the grimace by managing to look merely disgruntled. Toying with the world. Didn't sit well with her. Mostly because she dealt so frequently with the reprecussions of it, you know? Just... freaky, sometimes, and sometimes worse than that.

"Hunh," she said, also managing to sound slightly curious as a finger tapped furiously away at the desk behind her, un-lensed glasses slipping down her nose. She wondered what sort of information on Raven this place had had in order to choose her as the guardian for a black widow kid. Freaking bizarre. "Having fun?" she asked lightly, a euphemism for 'Your opinion?' in Jan-speak.

"He's a sweet kid. Very... determined. Not in a bad way, either. But the scientists give me the creeps. He... deserves better, I think. But I'm trying to make it easier for him, however I can? Y'know how it goes," Raven shrugged, though there really wasn't a particular way dealing with a six armed black widow boy went.

Or maybe there was. Raven just hadn't discovered it yet. >>;

Arms crossed and leaning slightly back, Jan's face scrunched up at the ceiling, no longer any particular expression other than, perhaps, constipated. "Uh huh," she said, not skeptically but rather making a noise to affirm she'd been listening at all. "So... what does he eat?" she added after a moment, remembering her own questions about Aduthule diets not so long ago.

"Right now, pretty much anything I give him," Raven shrugged. "I imagine he'll get more selective as he gets older... I don't know with some of the kids though. Yui's supposed to be a vampire when she stops being a wisp, so... I dunno how that'll turn out."

Jan was of two minds when it came to the black widow kid not eating bugs. For one, it was less creepy. On the other hand, he'd be no particular asset in the war versus creepy-crawlies, which Jan's more messy habits had an unfortunate tendency to attract. The Janitor instinct managed to combat such problems decently well on occasion but the majority of the time... enh.

"Make friends with a blood bank," she shrugged when the conversation turned once again towards the wisp thing. "Vampires aren't so weird around here - there's still a certain stigma, but you can't really get away from that. Long as you keep her instincts in check you shouldn't have a problem."

Unless... well, there was that thing about the souls in wands having been wronged in their past lives. Hopefully Yui wouldn't be the more vengeful type.

Raven rolled her eyes. "Blood bank? That's a little cliché, Jannie-- hey. Why not work with that in your tabloid? Something going wrong with the blood at the blood bank and vampires going crazy?"

Raven needed to get a new inanimate object that didn't have weird connotations. She needed... a paperclip or a safety deposit box or something. Something neutral.

Silent for a moment, finger on desk tapping reaching an almost cacophonous level of idiosyncratic rhythm while Jan's head began to bob along in time with the rapidity of thought whooshing along the mental train tracks. "Add in that it's the government's plan to turn said crazy vamps on the alien invasion and we oughta be set~" she nearly sang in conclusion.

The Janitor ducked behind her desk and seized a pen, scribbling the half-formed (more like malformed) ideas onto paper she hoped wasn't important in a flurry of half-baked inspiration.
