Why was he heading up to the caves...? Oh, right, Zimwi, the ghostly and rather frightened lion, had finally mustered up some courage. But the purpose wasn't something one should usually be afraid of. He was seeking to be officially accepted into the pride as a whole, to feel truly safe. No lion was safe without a pride, after all, and such a place made him feel such.

Climbing up a rock, the entrance of the cave soon came into view. Near by, he could hear the waterfall pounding on the rocks below. It sounded wonderful to his ears. But there, lounging before the entrance, was a lion. White, gray, and brown, it was no longer the coloration of a lion that frightened him. Rather... It was the fact of not knowing a lion. Hesitantly, he approached the other adolescent. "E-excuse me... Is there a lion named Maji around here...?"

Kisulisuli had been sunning himself off in the heat of the day. Few of the true mistweavers were very active in the daytime. Their pale fur blended best with the mists that would have normally risen from the dew-soaked earth providing the perfect camoflauge for their kind. The young lion was finally coming into his rusty brown mane and quite proud of it. Even Terali, his elephant companion, was impressed by it. he assured himself that he'd quickly become the warrior his father was. The only male of his litter, he had reason to flaunt himself around. At least in his own mind.

The voice caught his ear and earned a quick glare, both ears pinned back against the thickening mane. "OUTSIDER!" Kisu growled as he got to his paws, hulking up into his shoulders as the mane along his neck and back bristled. He was thinner than a lion his age should have been, and his reaction very well explained who he pinned the blame on. However, the rows of pearly white teeth and healthy pink gums were enough to detour from his minor weakness. It was hardly enough to hinder him... not with his training.

Eyes blazing the male growled, every muscle and joint in his body tense as a bowstring and just as ready to snap, "How dare you come here in search of us... how dare you set foot here!"

To say that the pale lion was startled by the ferocity expressed by the other lion was an understatement. His tail curling between his legs, he shrunk down to look even smaller. "I-I was just.." He swallowed, trying to remember what he was going to say. But old fears rose up, causing Zimwi to quake as if he were on a rocking mountain. "I didn't mean to intrude, but I don't wanna go out there, out where the others are!" He looked up at Kisulisuli, an almost begging look in his orange eyes. "I feel safe here, please don't make me leave! I just wanna be safe! I'll do anything, just don't send me out there with lions that could kill me!" He truly was willing to do anything to stay, even find a way to shave off his mane and leave it for a throw rug and be confused for a lioness.
