So I was lookin through an Guitar Player magazine and I came across an echo pedal in the gear review. This Electro-Harmonix is a remake of the original E-H 16 Second Digital Delay, all the same features except it now has "been increased to a generous 240 seconds! Thats 4 min of delay time! I really enjoy using delay when I improv and my V-Amp has served me well, and I was wondering if this pedal would be worth the price ($990 retail/$349 street). I don't have the finacial ability to buy it, or anything right now for that matter. I was also wondering if anyone here has it or has played with it.
And if anyone knows of another delay/echo pedal with "ridiculous" delay time and versitile features? How about the Gibson Echoplex?
Any input on the subject would be nice.

Well, the only real delay pedal that I have used is the Boss DD-3. It was really good, but I didn't really use anything over what would be considered 'normal' delay. Personally, I think pedals with pointless amounts of delay time are unessecary.

I can understand that view of "pointless amounts of delay time" as unessecary to average guitar players. but I'm into more than just rock n roll in your face. I like to experiment with soundscapes as well and a delay pedal with 4 min of delay would be very interesting to work with.

Yeah, I see where you are coming from with experimentation, but I think stuff like that is always like a gimmick, like "Ooh look! 4 minutes of delay! We are better than other brands because you get more delay time!"
