Dear diary,
I am learning more every day. Mama has taught me of the flowers and birds and bugs. She has given me many books to read. I do not like to read or to look at the pictures or write. I like playing outside in the garden, and looking at the stars.
Sody is quiet. Why doesn't she talk to me like Ronny? Ronny is nice. His hair is the color of fire, and he lets me play with his tail. I hold his ears when he gives me piggy-back rides.
Summer is nice, too. She is quiet like Sody but likes to play with me like Ronny.
Mama says I will meet more children like me soon. I hope they like me.

Dear Diary,
I'm very tired. Every day is hot but every night is cold. Why does the weather change like that? Mama told me it has something to do with a "atmusfeer," but I don't know what that is. I think there are fairies that no one can see, and they use their magic to change it from warm to cool...
Mama said she will buy me some toys to play with soon. I want a pet butterfly, but Ronny said that butterflies have to stay outside and they die when they are trapped in little bottles. I don't want to make any butterflies die...

Dearest diary,
I have grown much taller over the days past... My hair is longer and my little wings are larger than before. They are lovely, but I can't fly with them. I've set up a bunch of butterfly decorations and things in my room. It seems I still love them as much as I did as a child. Cameron seems to watch over me more carefully now, like a father figure. It's sweet, I think...but annoying.

Dearest diary,
Kara again. Things are boring here, with not much to do. The days are growing hotter. Mother is teaching me to write calligraphy...I think I'm doing well. I hope so. Summer likes for me to read it to her, it puts her to sleep at night. Is that good or bad?

Dearest diary,
I've improved much at my calligrapy. It's really very pretty. I hope I can continue to get better at it. Mother says it really is time to meet more children my age, but I don't know if I'm ready to... What will they think of me? Will I look or sound or act strangely? Will they think me odd?

Dearest diary,
It seems...I'm bigger now. My hair is longer and I've had to get new dresses. My wings have grown bigger as well. Mother says I'm beautiful. I certainly think so. It's wonderful finally being an adult.

It's hopeless. Just hopeless. I'll never make a single stupid friend in my life, never... I don't see why no one else gets close to me or even speaks to me. I mean, that's just rude... Sigh.

Diary,
Kara has been so down and depressed lately. I wonder why she won't simply go out and try to make friends? Not everything will come to her, but I suppose that is a lesson best learned on your own.

Diary,
Kara is losing her feathers... Is she molting? Is this natural? I'm so worried about her! So far, she's only lost about one or two from her wings, but it's difficult not to notice huge violet and blue feathers strewn about the place!

There is little, if anything, to report. I am ill and fear Kara will catch my sickness, too - because of this, I have been avoiding her. The last thing I want to do is make my little girl sick.

There seems to be some kind of party going on in the square. I shan't go. It's not as if I'd be wanted there anyways. Shiro is the only one who seemed to like me at all and she disappeared a long time ago.

The strange eggs mother had given me have hatched. She says I may only keep one of them, and I've chosen the small rabbit. She's a cute little thing...I shall call her Jingle, in the spirit of the season.
