Okay I have to comment on this again, because I've gone into a spin on it. You know, he said alot of hard things. I lisened to the whole sermon and he was speaking truth but I feel that he's missing something. Now, I am not qualified to discuss or preach the Bible as this man is, so maybe I'm just in denial, but it seems to me that if you are moved by God to give your heart to Jesus and you do that, then you belong to Him. Even if you turn away from God after that, you still are His child. It's a gift. Now, what bothers me is Paul (I think that's his name) is saying that you can do that and still go to hell.
See, I think once you accept Jesus as your Savior, He then starts a good work in you and if you don't work it out here on Earth you get to work it out up there in heaven. Eternity is a very loooooong time. See, I think the preacher was missing the whole point about the crown of glory.
If you accept Jesus and then just continue to live as the rest of the world does and you don't make an effort to grow or obey God's will, I just think you end up with an itty bitty crown in Heaven. But if you really work to do God's will then you become more refined and that goes into your inheritence in heaven, your crown, which will reflect your work and obedience to God that was carried out down here on Earth.
Has anyone else lisened to this sermon? I'd love to hear your thoughts. I just don't feel it's right to try and scare people into wearing modest clothing and not to watch anything on TV that isn't about God. Don't get me wrong, you do have to be careful and selective about what you are wearing, watching, and reading. My heart is just really troubled by the sermon.
Anyone care to comment?
