It was a day like any other, Hivu was catching fish a ways downstream from the waterfall when it started. Her breathing got shallow and she felt a sharp pain, it was time, she knew it. The black and white leopardess pulled herself into the foliage, out of the open and away from the water.
Another contraction hit, she cringed from the pain and lay on her side, trying to find a comfortable position. It wasn't working, her contractions grew closer together and she pushed with all her might, she was no longer exited for the arrival of her cubs.
She was afraid.
She continued to push, as hard as she could, she felt her water break and heard a soft 'thump' near her back legs. She pulled the cub towards her and pressed her cream colored body against her stomach, licking the baby girl clean.
"Limbua." She panted, "Your name is Limbua." She cooed, resting her head on the ground once again as she anticipated the arrival of the next cub.

Limbua, From the Woods, mewed and cried loudly in her mother's arms. The transition from the warmth inside of her mother to the cold world now. Her eyes were still shut, scared and confused. She cried loudly more and more as she could feel the cold air brush up against her. Bu whines until a soft, wet, warm object brushed against her. It was so comforting as she release a soft undeveloped purr.
The female was placed down as something warm emitted toward her. Instinctively, she was draw to it when she felt a bump against her nose. Bu cried out agains before taking the object into her muzzle as warm liquid slipped down her throat. It was so....wanted.
She pushed herself up against the body of her mother and continued suckling the milk from her.

Hivu was glad that her cub seemed to know what she was doing, she didn't have the energy to teach it. But her calmness was short lived, she was hit by another contraction. Hivu groaned with the pain, tail whiping about for a moment before she began once again to push. She could feel a small body on her leg. A second cub was born. "You will be Kumbuko." Hivu panted, pulling the second cub towards her, licking her, and gently placing her beside her sister.  It was a shock to be sure. One minute she was just minding her own buisness in the comfortable warmth of her mothers belly, and the next she was shoved out into the cold! She cried from the shock, meowing obnoxiously until she found herself next to her mothers belly once again. She suckled eagerly at the black and white leopardess, hungry. Before that moment she didn't know what being hungry was, but now it seemed so important...Purring softly as her second cub began to feed, she thought perhaps it was over. She was wrong. A final contraction hit her and she gasped, she was so tired, but she had to keep going for her cubs. She gathered all her strength and pushed out her last cub, a releif sweeping over her as she knew that she was finally done. She cleaned him as she had with the rest and placed him with his sisters, "You are Narcissus, my son." She purred, laying down her head to rest.

Naracissus whimpered, it was so cold out here. Not to mentin that thing that was running over him removing the once warm liquids.
There was squeaking as he nudged over his sisters trying to get some milk as well. Squeaking his nosed into his mothers stomach. Suckling down the milk he murred slightly.

Hivu sighed happily, she was a mother! She was in the safety of the bushes, nobody would disturb her for quite some time. Her and her cubs all needed rest, and so she did. Hivu lay her head upon the ground tiredly, and she knew that now the real work would begin.
Kumbuko was tired too, being born was difficult indeed! Once she had her fill of milk, she nestled herself into her mothers fur and dozed off, this cold new world was very demanding after all.
