Her tiny flattened snout raised slightly as the blind twin struggled to crowd surf over the mass of furry bodies all around her. The tiny paws struggled to gain a grip on the moving bodies and try as she might the little unnamed cub rolled over, flailing briefly on her side in an effort to regain her lost footing.
A mewling sound left her tiny mouth and for a moment she looked quite lost and then something warm and comforting rasped across her fur, cleaning it of the yucky fluid.
Her tiny body wriggled as finally the helpless cubling was nudged to her mother's side and with a small squeak of defeat sought what instinct told her to find.
Food.
And in no time at all the tiny female cub had found what he desired and was finally enjoying her first ever meal. She fed and fed until her belly felt swollen and finally with a tiny yawn the cub curled up tight against her mother's warm belly and slept.
Eating and sleeping, eating and sleeping; so was the life of a newborn cub.

Syeira smiled weakly, nosing her maw against the warmth of her mate - though her body urged her to sleep, to dwellin dreams of success. Her tail flickered, those brilliant blue eyes drifting down over her new children, "they look so much like you, Uumi." She purred it out, eyes drifting back up to him, "I know you never wanted a big family - but it doesn't seem like it was in your destiny to have a very small one."
Taabu came over as his father beckoned, his eyes drifting immediately between the pair of his parents - seeing the mound of mostly red, dotted with cream, brown, and black here and there. His eyes lit, a smile spread over his face.
"They're beautiful mum," he whispered out, leaning to lick her ear gently. Aww.
And the family settled down, entranced with their newest additions, and acting more like a family that they ever had since the birth of Taabu. Maybe things really would be OK in the end.
[End]
