The blue hyena paced around his den, gnawing on a particularly stubborn horn, whos previous owner had provided several good meals, and a good workout hunting it down. He had just been informed that Goma and Topas had most likely lied to him about Jamaa, and needless to say he was angry.
He thought for a minute about going through that tunnel Topas had made and giving him a good talking to, but decided against it for the moment, he would just yell at him the next time he showed up. He shook his fur out of his eyes and set down the horn, picking up a hopefully less stuborn leg bone to snap in half.

Topas was cheerful today, this time Goma and he managed a zebra limb this time. Sure they scavanged it from a lion's leftover, but it was untouched and neither of them were going to eat it. The ratel sowly dragged it down the tunnel to the Elephant Graveyard, more accurately, Yakuti's den. He hasn't been out of his den much other than to do just that, he's been supporting Jini'kali through her pregnancy, the one he got her in. However, he hummed a rather happy tune as he backed up into Yakuti's den, pulling back to get the leg in.
Popping in with the leg sticking out of the entrance/exit of the tunnel. "Mornin', laddie, I trust ya been fine?" he spoke with a gruff, yet gentle tone. "Ya been buildin' out that frame of yer's, not as great as Jamaa's but ya gettin' there." he smiled widely and murred. "Guess what! Jini is having pups soon!" Topas added, unknown of what Yakuti knew about his and Goma's visit.

How ironic was this? The very ratel he was wanting to see. "Yeah Topas, I've been fine." He said in a rather cold tone, "I guess thats good news, I'm glad for you two." He said, though he didn't sound nearly as glad as he normally would have.
"Tell me Topas, how long did you think you could keep me from finding out? Why did you lie to me?" He asked bluntly, glaring at him from a distance. "Do you just not want me around Jamaa? Is that it?"

Topas felt his heart jump up into his throat, Oh no, already!? Topas cowered in the corner immediately, now fearing for his life. He was small compared to Yakuti, strength as well. He stood no chance against the juvenile hyena. What had he gotten himself into. What has Goma gotten himself into! There was no hiding it now. He had to live for his family, he did not care if Goma told his secret anymore.
"Yakuti, I could explain!" he cried in defense. "Goma said that without Jamaa around you could grow like a hyena, like Jamaa wanted! And without you around Jamaa, he doesn't haven't to worry about you when he is busy with his pack duties!" Topas shuddered. What was going to happen now? "Please understand, Yaku, Goma made me!"

Yakuti snorted in a disgusted fasion, "Topas stop acting pathetic," He said rolling his eyes at the ratel, "This seems like its Gomas fault, I'll deal with him later." He said with a growl, no way was a stupid little jackal going to get away with something like this, not on his watch!
"But explain to me, how did he 'make' you do it? Did he threaten you? If he did he's in some serious trouble." He said sternly. From the looks of things Topas would not be hard to threaten.

He nodded, "There was two things he preyed on me. The first was he threatened to kill off Jini and my family when they were born if I ever told you or Jamaa. He also said he would take them away and use them for his own plots if I didn't follow his plan." he spoke, still cowering, how could he not? Yakuti was growing up and he could be at the point of being unstable, puberty, and could simply kill him. Topas wished he never followed Jamaa but that would mean his family would be killed.
"Yakuti, I had no choice!" he cried out in a pathetic voice, cowering again. Where was Jamaa when he needed a big strong animal to protect him. He missed Jamaa dearly, Yaku was the other who wished to kill him. Where were they when he needed them, except Yaku was right here.

He barked harshly in his anger, "That lowly, cowardly scum!" He raged, "Topas, I swear I will not let him do such a thing to your mate or children." He said, attempting to cool his temper. He looked at Topas, "Topas stop it, I'm not going to hurt you, its obviously not your fault, I would have done the same thing in your position."
"I won't tell him you told me, and if you want, you and your family can come here for a while, I'll protect you from him."

Topas nodded before digging into the wall disappearing. He need some time to think. What would Jini think about temporarily living with Yaku? Would she like it? She hasn't had her pups yet. Would it be safe in a den surrounded by hyenas? He would have to talk to Jini about it.
Popping out next to Yaku, he gave a sheepish grin. "I will ask Jini, but I would like to." His deep eyes turned to the meal he dragged from the Pride Lands to his den, "Better eat that before it rots, y'know."

Yakuti smiled, "Alright Topas, just let me know how its gonna be, I've got plenty of space." He said happily, he would not let the likes of Goma do anything to Topas. "Oh don't worry, I will, thanks!" He said, walking over to the zebra leg. He really didn't care if it was rotten or not, but things were often better fresh.

Topas nodded and quickly left to ask Jini. If this all works well, his family will be safe, his secret will remain a secret, and Goma punished.
"I'll be back soon, Yaku!"
