Rules
1. No flaming. We're all here bacause of a common interest so I don't forsee this being much of a problem. ^_^ There's always one random flamer though...in such a case, please don't lower yourself to thier level! ^_^; Any arguments that may arise between members should be taken to pm's.
2. No spam. This includes all the regular spamy stuff, but also bumping. Now that we are part of the GGN, there really isn'ta reason to bump ever. ^_^;; Members, please bookmark the guild and check in frequently! ^_^
3. Members only? Well, not exactly...non-members are free to post the occasional message, but please keep it to a minimum. ^_^; Other-wise what's the point of joining if anyone could post? ^_~
4. Use links when appropriate. If you're posting a pic or showing off your newest commission, please refrain from posting the whole picture and instead leave a link if the image is larger then 600 pixels wide. Posting excessivly wide images stretches out the screen and annoys us! D: To resize your image for viewing without acutally changing the image, use the html tag instead of the bbc img tags.
5. No new threads. Please do not create new threads without pre-approval from the captain... Anything you want to post should be appropriate in one of the current threads. Please feel free to post in the OGAWG Chatterbox or pm me if there's an appropriate new subject you'd like to see a thread for. It's not that's I'm that a**l and controlling....I'm just kinda a neat freak. whee ;;
I'm not going to kill all new threads that are posted, but periodically, these rogue threads may be deleted or restructured as part of an official thread.

6. Rule six. More of a guidline than a rule really... Please, when posting new art in the "This Just In" thread, use thumbnail images when/if possible. For an uber-easy way to do this by takeing advantage of Photobucket's automatically generated thumbnails, please check HERE



Membership Requirements
So you want to join the guild? ^_^ Anyone meeting the following requirements will be admitted free of charge!

1. Must have more than 50 commissions* under yer belt. Does not have to be of a single character, however don't go overboard there...50 pics of 50 different characters doesn't count! ^_^;; Along those same lines, fan art doesn't count in most cases. Avatar edits do, but only if they aren't fan-edits! >.<; Images that are simply recolored or have only a small edit do not count as seperate images.
2. Must have commissions in a public gallery. What good are 300 pics if others can't view them? ^_^; If you don't have a web page gallery, an easy and free alternative is setting up a photobucket account! As long as your photobucket account isn't password protected, it acts very much like a gallery. If you can't leave your photobucket un-passworded, please consider either getting a second account, or making a web page gallery at a site like Angelfire, Geocities, or FreeWebs.

*For simplicity's sake, I use the term 'commissions' to represent all artwork by other artists. This includes not only actual commissions, but also art recieved as gifts or through trades, ect., bassically any artwork done for you by another person.

This one's easy! Just hit the "request to join" button on the main page and copy/paste the below into the message window, filling in your information

11-15-04 (11-19-04): added a "Jr. Whores" section. ^_^ What does it mean to be a Jr. Whore, you ask? Well basically it means that the guild recognizes that you are on the right track towards joining the guild and that you are welcome to post art and chat here as you please. :3 Jr. Whore status does not make you an official member and as a Jr. Whore you are not elligable for discounts offered to guild members or other such guild benefits. How do you apply to be a Jr. Whore? You don't. whee Jr. Whores are hand selected and apointed by me purely at my whim and fancy! ^_~ So don't ask.
7-20-04: yay, i'm so happy! it looks like the guild is really starting to take off! ^_^
on another note, i'm heading out of town now for 2 weeks. i probably will get online once or twice from my sister's house so if someone has a question or something thst need's my immediat attention please pm me! ^_^ and, uhhh....well my attention won't be immediat... whee but it will be faster than waiting for me to get home! :3 ja nen~

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but in the "This Just In" (new art) thread, when a new page starts many people post quickly, but as the page grows longer, posting slows greatly. This--I believe--is because the page takes so long to load with so many (often large) pictures on it. Once a few people have posted, there are usually quite a few images to load and people with slow connections can't handle the load time it takes to view the page. The people who would post near the bottom of the page, would rather wait for a new page, knowing that many people won't see thier new art as they don't want to wait on the page...I kow I am guilty of both sides of this personally--I don't want to post my own art at the bottom of a page, and sometimes, I just can't handle the load time and miss other people's art. sweatdrop

In an attempt to draw back in those with slow connections, and to encourage people to post more....um...well, not at the top of the page only... xd ;; (anyone have the word I'm looking for here? whee ), I'm going to ask that people use thumbnails to link thier images if they can easily do so. I do not ask that you create thumbnails just for us, but I know most of us host our pictures on photobucket and photobucket automatically generates thumbnails for you! surprised Again, this is not a rule, you will not get in trouble for posting full-sized images, however, I do strongly urge you to use thumbnails if you can easily do so!




So, how exactly do you take advantage of photobucket's automatically generated thumbnails? Easy!

Example:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Raesha/th_luciole.jpg <--photobucket auto-generated thumbnail of same image, please note the bold red part

By adding "th_" immediatly before the filename of any image stored in photobucket, you can pull up the auto-generated thumbnail image.

Then, simply post the thumbnail image and make it a link to the large image, like so:
