1. Don't aim with the ship. You shouldn't have to move the ship just to hit a target. Focus the ship on moving only.
2. Bobble the shooting stick when you shoot. You should have some kind of a "cone-spray" effect when you shoot. It gives you more room to maneuver.
3. Don't get greedy with bombs. If it's going to save your life, don't hesitate to use it. You don't want to lose your multiplier.
4. Learn to go clock-wise or counter clock-wise. Get this pattern memorized and use it constantly. Don't stick to it like glue, you may have to get creative in certain situations.
5. Play some good music while you're playing. The Geometry Wars soundtrack will start to get to you after a while.
6. Play while you're alert and wired. Playing after you just woke up will not get you a good score.
7. DO NOT GET PISSED OFF. It will only mess you up even more.
8. Don't focus on your score. Trust me, it will skyrocket on it's own.

Trust me, it will skyrocket on it's own. Well obiously I'll use these tips. You're an expert. My FAQ on GameFAQs.
I'm updating it soon, because I see some major areas where it could be improved. Any suggestions for changes/improvements Omega?
Anyway, I'd like to add to his suggestions:
1. Listen to his first suggestion. Even for the Green Scares. Learn this. Learn it well.
2. In my guide I refer to that as "shaking" the control stick a bit. Little advanced, or complicated, or both, but I'll say it anyway: One thing to take notice of is that when you're flying in a straight line, and shooting ahead of you, the "cone" created goes above and below your path. (Imagine your straight path going on forever, then the cone on that.) If you're next to a wall half of that cone get's wasted. If you're next to a wall try and making the bottom of the cone parallel with the wall.
3. My biggest problem. I always gameover with 4 bombs...many times with 8 or 9 bombs. Although, I find it good training to not use bombs at all and see how long you can last. It improves your skill, instead of just killing the challenge. The problem is that if you get used to it, you have my problem, where I'm at level 10 and not using bombs...even though it's pretty much required, lol
4. I go clock-wise, but I'm about 90% as good going counter-clockwise. Also, learn how to fly through the middle of the field, even when there is a bunch of enemies there. This will save you when you're blocked on both directions of circular motion...if you're trapped on all sides (damn Sidewinders!) use a bomb.
5. I LOVE the GeoWars music. Have never listened to another thing while playing. In fact, I have the music on my iPod. ninja I'm also going to listen to it next time I play Retro...I think it will be awesome, and alot less boring.
6. Find out when you do best. I set my 4.7 Million HS within 20 minutes of waking up one morning. I'm always best bright and early in the morning. I am horrible at night, and just okay during the day.
7. VERY IMPORTANT. OH MY GOD. Hey everyone, download and watch The Secret. In truth, not only did I play that 4.7 million game in the morning, but I used The Secret to help me. XD (Before using it I could barely get 3.2 Mil, lol, not I consitenly score 4 mil+
8. Also important, but it's okay to just check it out every once and awhile.

That's not a bad GameFAQs review. But I think it was skimping out on the Red Magnets and the "Level 10". So I'll explain it for you. You can edit, add, or delete stuff as you wish.
Strategy for Red Magnets:
Red Magnets are possibly considered the most difficult shape to deal with in Geometry Wars. Not only do they go all-out kamikaze all the time at twice your speed, but they also have a shield which prevents you from shooting them mid-flight. Even more, they are not affected by swarms of other enemies, so they can jump in front of the enemies you want to shoot, reflecting your shots and forcing you to do something else.
Though you may get a Magnet or two when they start to spawn at around 130,000 points, they don't mostly appear until you reach Level 9 Difficulty. Level 9 shows up anywhere between 2 million and 4 million, depending on how many times you died so far in the game.
At Level 9, Magnets will start to spawn from the corners every half-second. Which means that any Random Spawn that has dragged on too long will have at least 20 Red Magnets for you to deal with. They will also start to appear in Swarm Spawns. At Level 10, they appear randomly and en masse in Rainbow Corner Spawns.
The strategy for Red Magnets is different, depending on how many are actually on the field. Taking on 3 is a lot different than fighting off 15 of them. However, the general idea of avoiding Magnets is always the same: Avoid going in a straight line. Moving in one direction for a long time gives the Magnets some time to catch up to you and hit you from behind. When you see a Magnet coming for you, front or back, quickly make a 90-degree turn in any direction. The Magnet will miss you and stop, taking it off of your back for about 3 seconds. This needs to be done in all Random Spawn scenes, since you will be too busy shooting the other shapes in front of you to woory about killing the Magnets. Get used to making unpredictable turns when Magnets are on the field, because you will see a lot of them at Level 9 and 10.
Now, as far as destroying them, as I said before it depends on how many you're dealing with. Let's say, for the sake of argument, the Random Spawn ended and you were given an Ambush spawn. You made it through, and now you have the time to kill the Magnets.
If theres a few of them, as in at most 5, they can be taken out easily. Wait for the Magnets to charge at you. You need to fly at it, but not directly at it so it hits you. You need to be about 40 degrees off, so that the Magnet will fly right past you and miss. As soon as it does miss, you need to fire a few shots backwards, so that you will hit the Magnet before it has the time to stop and aim at you again. The Magnets have no shielding on their sides or back, so if you want you can even attempt to hit them before they even get past you at all. However, it's not reccomended to shoot them head-on. Even though the shots will have the extra speed and power needed to go through the shield, chances are good that the shot will not pierce the shield fast or good enough enough and you will get hit.
However, a group of over 10 Magnets is a lot more difficult. What makes this difficult is that they're usually in a line behind each other, creating a "Long Shield" which reflects your shots a lot harder, no matter where you aim at them. Any Long Shield while in a Random Spawn is instant death, since you can hardly shoot anything at all.
What you have to do is "Ride" with the Magnets. Find the point where you can go in the same direction the Magnets are going, without them turning sharp enough to ram into you. While you are riding the Magnets, try to shoot from point-blank range right into the formation. Some of the shots should pierce the shields and take out a Magnet or two. Repeat this strategy until you've wittled the group down to a manageable number (However the odds are good you won't have enough time to do this, so if there's still too many Magnets, bomb them to make room for the next Spawns).

I just force them to all crash into the same wall a few times...they end up bunching together in what looks like a -really- bright magnet ship (because of the overlap) and then kill them like a normal magnet ship, just with more bullets this time, lol

The "riding the Magnets" is just something to take a few of them out until they do bunch together. As for the Riding, it's almost like going in a circle, with you in the inner part and the Magnet in the outer part.
