By Laurell K Hamilton
And I couldn't see any other posts on this, or maybe I wasn't looking too hard (both work), so I thought I'd make one of my own. Feel free to lock this thread if I'm in the wrong here. smile
Anyway.. I was out looking for a book (yep, that's what I do when I'm away, I look for books rolleyes ) and I saw this beauty in the Horror section and thought, "wow, wonder if any of those guys have read this."
I want someones opinion before I buy it when I get back home, please, if at all humanely possible. If not, I'll get it anyway and review it myself. Ha! That'll show ya. lol
One more thing before I go... what's with the Anita Blake books being in the Horror section in bookstores? I don't get it. What's so horrific about literary porn? Oh wait, I answered my own question. *snort* smile
Later lol

It is not bad, much too D&D for me, but not anything like her normal style.

ah, I almost posted my own thread on this.
I have this book, and well it's.. uh different. I guess it's pretty cool but it's just strange. Nothing like her normal writing I don't think.
Appearantly it's a three part series and 2 other authors are going to write the second and third books. So that will be interesting, seeing how everyone puts their styles together.

Death of a Darklord is actually one of Laurell's first books and most people feel it's very weak, especially in the series that it's in.
I've enjoyed it but I'm not reading it in context like a lot of D&D fans would. It's interesting to see her write other characters though but I can see the book lose focus at points and try to get back on track.
In Borders, LKH is under Horror and in B&N she's under Sci-Fi .. go figure. smile

In my local Books-A-Million, they have her spread out all over! Part of her books are in Fiction, Romance, Sci-Fi and Horror. It is very confusing when a new one comes out because I run all over trying to find which section they have put that specific book.

It is very confusing when a new one comes out because I run all over trying to find which section they have put that specific book. I always find her in Sci-Fi. But I do read some books that come up in romance, and it should still be Sci-Fi. I don't know how they decide these things.

I haven' heard of that book but I will most definately look for it ! At my local Walden books she can be found in sci-fi fantasy and I do have one of her first books that I would like to see a sequel to and its called nightseer I believe and it was pretty good and nothing like either of her blake or gentry books.
