I only use the word noob. Newb is just kind of weird.
And if somebody calls me a noob, which rarely happens, I just ignore them.
You know if you are a noob or not and there in no point in arguing with somebody who is a real idiot and it would just be a waste of time.

Karnokoto SomeLameGuy I just call everyone a n00b or noob...I think the word "newb" looks dumb mrgreen And this is exactly the kind of person I'm talking about. Hey I call myself a noob just as much as I call anyone else one, probably more. Even when I know what I'm doing as opposed to my team -_- I'll still stick by "newb" looks wierd and I shan't use it.

How about newbie... Why does everything have to be shortened these days?? My theory is that the word 'noob' only started because either someone couldn't be bothered typing 'newb' or 'newbie', or someone didn't understand how the word 'newb' was created, saw it as an insult, and changed the spelling because they couldn't be bothered typing 'newb'. Either way, people are just getting lazier xd

Call me a newb, but I didn't know there was a difference between the terms other than spelling. I thought they both stood for "newbie" or " n00bie". Thanks for the clarification.
And as far as webcomics go, I like VGCats.

Everyone has been a Newbie, so there's nothing against Newbie's.
It's the retarded N00b that are the problem. Their behaviour is super childish and all sweatdrop
I hardly use those words, unless I join somewhere new myself and like "Hi, I'm a newbie, how do you do that?" or something

In guild wars if someone is asking questions in the chat "how do i do this" where do i get that" i usually start explaining everything they need to know....I like helping out
but when people are over 50% of the way through the game and they dont know how to play...gah!
With exception to people having a good time...I was in a group on teamspeak doing some player vs player games and 3 of our team of 4 died and the last guy ran around for 40 minutes...and he is always "zomg nubs!"...I just found it halarious and entertaining smile

With me if someones a noob, I call them a noob, plain and simple. But if they're a newb, I make sure to say the whole word, 'newbie', just so there isnt any miscommunication.
