[[After the Arrival~]]
Awareness of time had left Hikari as she fell to the couch. Bringing a shaky hand to her cheek brushing down her arm she felt the tender area where the needle forced its way into mudcle, sedation that pulled her into darkness.
"It wasn't a dream was it?" She glanced over to the babe laying serenly in the car seat she had pulled out upon reaching home. Tiny girl set with tiny dragon. "I don't even know your names..." Hikari rolled onto her side and dropped a hand to brush unusually long locks from the girl's face, watching the stirring dragon carefully.
From previous encounters, Hikari had learned that the black ball of scales disliked being touched, adressed, brushed, poked, scolded or even looked at. Tempromental at best. The teen gave a snort and sat up.
"At least Diae's arrival was a little less dramatic." Red strands were pushed out of Hikari's face witn one sweeping motion. "I wonder if she will drink formula? They must be hungry. How long were you two down there..."
The teen stopped short and felt her back pocket for the script on paper. It was aged and most likely useless. Yet Hikari felt the urge to keep it around.
"That's it!" Hikari jumped up, careful not to disturb the sleeping duo. Skimming her fingers through the bindings of misplaced and forgotten books she pulled out a small midnight blue bound journal. Dust blew into her face as empty pages flipped by showing nothing but blank aged paper.
"I'll keep this for you, and when you're older you can use it." She smiled to herself and walked around the car seat, placing the paper into the book and set it next to the seat.
"But I still need to know your name..." Hikari murmured more to herself than the sleeping pair. She looked to the dragon, scales gleaming in the moonlight that shone through the window. A light growl emitted from the small lizard as paper thin wings before re situating itself atop of the Forgotten's head. With as little commotion possible, Hikari placed a soft blanket over the seat and curled back onto the couch.
The last thing Hikari saw was the moonlight splayed across new babe and faithful companion before passing out from exhaustion.

Hikari woke with a start, the feeling of leathery wings flitted across her face. She grappled at the body atop of her face and pushed it as faw away as possible, so much that she wouldn't deny that she threw the offensive figure, whatever it might be. Taking a deep breath she pushed away loose strands and investigated her surroundings. Darkness crowded the room depicting early morning.
A small growl emitted from the tiny dragon, so it was that thing that had been her alarm clock. From the dragon, Hikari's gaze carried to the child that had been there when everything happened... That meant it was real. The dance, the man, the cell, paper, library, excerpt...Child and Dragon. Her new wards, children and family.
Hikari rubbed her face and eyes, frowning as her hand drifted to where the long needle injected her with the sedative. The dragon crawled atop the infant's head. Her unrealistically longhair curled in waved down the baby seat, far too long and curious in its own aspect.
The infant's eyes opened slowly, dark irises piercing hers. Hikari never dropped the gaze when grey went to bright blue.
Her surroundings warped and she was sitting in a cell of sorts, the blue eyed woman huddled in a corner. Head held high, dark locks braided and looped about. Her hands and feet were bound yet she smiled serenly at Hikari.
Her lips moved but there was a delay to her speech. It seemed forced and echoed more than a voice should.
"Take care of her."
Hikari lurched as the image faded leaving her in her dark living room once more. The girl and dragon blinked expectantly at her.
"Take care of her..." Hikari murmured bringing a knuckle to her lip.
"Muuuu..." droned someone down the hall to Hikari's right. Diae stumbled into the room, rubbing sleep from his eyes. The ever present ragdoll hung limply in in his grasp, fingers just peaking out under long sweater sleeves.
"Diae, love," Hikari mumbled dragging the sleepy Tale onto her lap. "Lovie, why are you out of bed?" and how? Hikari questioned to herself. Diae shrugged and nestled closer the Hikari. The Dragon twitched his tail and turned to take Diae in. His response; a short and curt snort of dislike.
"Who that?" Diae asked, grogginess leaving him as he clambered from Hikari's lap onto the floor.
Author and guardian lurched, completely forgetting how much of a family shock the girl and dragon will cause. She cleared her throat and stood to kneel next to Diae.
"Honey, this is your new baby sister and...brother I guess." The last tacked on as she regarded the dragon. His presence was far too large to be called a pet. The dragon itself was more of an advocate for the duo than the infant.
"Baby sister. Sister like Chai?" Diae asked, eyes lighting as he scooted closer to his new family memebers."Hi! 'M Diae!"The tale said waving at the girl and daemon."Are you like Chai 'n me?"
"Diae, be careful with her." Hikari warned as Diae reached out a hand to touch blond and orange kissed locks. The dragon was quick to responed to this action. As soon as Diae came in contact with the hair, the daemon struck out sinking his tiny teeth into the Tale's finger.
"Ow!" Diae exclaimed, tears gathering in his eyes. The boy brought his finger to his mouth and sucked in hopes of making the owie stop. "Muu! It hurted me!"
And Chaos in the Corrigan house hold didn't stop there. Infant and Tale began to cry out. Yet the gir's cry was louder than the rest. It carried on a unexplained gust that blew in family's faces. All went silent and the small infant stopped her tears and looked weapy eyed into Hikari's shocked face.
"I sorry, Sable" Diae muttered quietly to the tale. Hikari looked quizzically at the boy. Sable?
"Sable?" She voiced her thought turning to the boy. Diae looked up at his guardian and beamed.
"Sable." Diae said bobbing his head in concurrence. "H'es 'er name." Diae concluded only to be faced with his mother's perplexed look.
"How do you know her name?" Hikari asked sitting back to encompass both of her children in view.
Diae pointed to the girl and dragon with honesty burning in his eyes."Her eyes tolded me so."
"Her eyes?" Hikari blinked looking back at the girl who looked fairly interested in the conversation around her.
"The pretty lady with braids!" Diae stated with enthusiasm. "Did Mu see her too?"
Hikari nodded and sighed standing up as she dusted her pants off. She walked over to the baby seat and plucked the girl up into her arms. The tiny dragon fell from it's perch, grappling at the babe's skirt before clawing his way up onto her shoulder.
"Sable." Hikari said to the girl watching as the lights of recognition lit behind dark eyes. The child released a smile and giggled as she waved her pudgy arms and kicking her small legs."Where am I going to put you?" Hikari asked to herself and looked down at he boy at her feet. "She'll need a brave big brother to protect her."
Diae scrambled at the oppertunity to be a good big brother. "SaeSae can be with me 'n Eain!"
"You don't mind." Hikari asked grinning to which a frantic headshake was the response.
"My room 'es big 'n SaeSae 'n blacky might get scarded like me." Diae rambled getting up to lead the way upstairs to his room. "Uh oh." He stated upon opening the door to the seemingly always frigid room "Where 'es Sable gonna sleep?"
Hikari smiled and nudged Diae into the room. The girl in her arms looked at the room with her hand in her mouth, interest peaked when she glanced at the bookshelf.
"Myau!" She emitted raising both her arms from their previous posistions to grab at the books on the shelf. Hikari chuckled and walked over to Diae's crib before placing both Forgotten and Daemon within it's bars. Needless to say that the guardian was more perplexed when a sight of shear terror claimed the girl as she emitted tiny wails before she outright sobbed.
"Sable no like crib!" Diae said before bouncing over and sticking his hands through the bars to hold a tiny hand within his own small one. " 'Es okay SaeSae. I won't let bad things getchu." Diae said as he patted the baby's arm in a gesture he felt was comforting when he was scared.
"I'll be right back. Protect Sable and...brother." Hikari rushed out of the room careful not to wake her brother of Sie who slumbered at this hour. She stopped next to a closet before pulling out a traveling crib. Instead of bars a light blue mesh protected whoever slept within.
Hikari walked back into the room that was filled with Sable's pitiful whimpers and Diae's youth filled murmurs. She assembled the crib making sure to place in a matress and a the secruity blanket that Cirrus had picked up after donating something to some cause. She then made her way to the crib and lifted the child out of the barred bed before placing her into the not so barred crib, the dragon resting upn her head while the transfer occurred.
Sable glanced about her surroundings and as soon as she noted the lack of bars her lids slowly flitted close leaving only the dragon to peer sleepily over the rim.
Diae walked over to his mother stifling a yawn. "Can you read us a story mumma?" He asked showing her the tale of moon and sun. Hikari sighed and pulled the bean bag chair next to Sable's crib flopping down into it's uncanny comfortable mold before motioning Diae to sit on her lap.
Diae crawled next to his mother and listened for a few seconds before he drifted to sleep, Hikari following shortly there after.
