(Which I left at home visiting for the holiday gonk ) I'm proud to be a Jew becuaes I'm descended from a people that could only be conquered by vastly armed empires after taking huge losses, many years, and much embarrassment, and even though some of the "greatest" empires in history won political control of us, have scattered us to the world, we still manage to retain our spiritual and cultural heritage.

DarkHalcyon I'm proud to be a Jew becuaes I'm descended from a people that could only be conquered by vastly armed empires after taking huge losses, many years, and much embarrassment, and even though some of the "greatest" empires in history won political control of us, have scattered us to the world, we still manage to retain our spiritual and cultural heritage. Of course, the only reason the Jews lost was because G-d wasn't supporting them at the time. G-d could easily have given them into the hands of bnei yisrael if he so desired. Though G-d decided that if they bnei yisrael must be struck, at least the striker won't live to gloar. It's somewhat like the sting of a bee - When it stings, it dies. I am proud to part of a nation that has G-d backing it up, like a father protecting his son.

I'm proud to be a Jew* because the Jews are expected to question everything. In fact, to blindly believe in doctrine is not Jewish.
* I'm in the early process of converting. I'm holding off because a) it's very possible I'm ethnically Jewish and I want to find out first and b) I need to graduate first before I can commit to conversion due to the study involved.
I look forward to being hated and despised in a way, because I know the path I'm taking is the right one and to me, if the majority of people don't agree with me in something, it usually means I'm right.

I'm proud to be a Jew because 90% of Jews in America go to college.
I'm also proud to be a Jew becaues when I heard this fact I thought to myself, "Why didn't the other 10% get into college?"
