Rose Nocturia

PostPosted: Tue Oct 12, 2004 11:28 am

Rose sighed to herself inwardly she had been turned away at the door, as she had expected. Why was it so hard for people to understand that people with different views were always going to have those views and defend them against any other? If people understood that, then maybe they could finally see the beauty of the Silver Arbiters. She would of kicked herself but didn’t since she was still in the presence of the lords. “Thank you, Lord Hikaru” she said in the eastern tongue and gave a bow. She felt like she could say more but guessed she already looked too much like a fool, she didn’t need to be considered a jester. This had turned out bad as with all dealings she had with nobles, why was she ever elected head of the Silver Arbiters? She walked toward he horse and forced the thoughts out of her mind, she didn’t need to be distracted riding home on the streets at night.

After she had untied her horse and was getting ready to leave she remembered the ‘chef’. Feeling that it was her duty to at least alert the guards of the trespasser she stopped by the front gate and told the guard standing there of what she saw. She wasn’t in the mood for talking much so she was short and brief, suggesting that all the cook’s and servant’s names to be checked before they were let in to move near the nobles. Once she was done reporting what she saw she got on her horse and rode off she didn’t want to be around any longer. She was tired and wanted to rest it had been a long long day.

((right, well i let it slide the first time, but when he mugged the chef, he was in the marketplace... so unless you were looking for him, you wouldn't have seen it in the marketplace... hence the cook was carrying vegetables))

((actually silfer, not that I really have any reason to care, but it appears that you mugged the chef in an alleyway near the main building. at least that's what it looks like from your post. it seems you mugged the guy, and dragged him into an alley, but you didn't specify a location. you did however write some stuff that one could use to inferr that you were relatively near the building, so I think rose's posts may be correct.

NOTE: I reserve the right to be totally incorrect on this count. this is an oppinion since neither of us really has facts, but instead mere implications. thus I have just as much chance of having misinterpereted your posts entirely. in this event, let me just say: "I'm sorry. my bad."))

Anastazi smiled to himself as Hikaru dismissed the arbiter smoothly, making it seem he'd almost done her a favor. That was a skill he would have to watch; the boy was obviously skilled with words.

He nodded as Hikaru suggested they go inside and fell into step beside the young man after smiling at his sister, who seemed particularly distracted.

Anastazi was curious to see the result of this meeting, but even more than that, he was interested in the process itself. It would certainly be an entertaining session. The swish of his loose-legged pants sounded gently in the corridor as he followed Hikaru.

"King Alessander has asked me to personally convey his greetings, as well as negotiate in his place. He hopes that we will be able to come to a resolution that is satisfactory to everyone," Anastazi paused. "My sister and I share these feelings...but we also believe that the more people that are involved, the harder it will be to discuss. I appreciate your diplomatic dismissal of the Silver Arbiter..." Anastazi looked directly at Hikaru and inclined his head, acknowledging him as an equal. "...and look forward to our negotiations."

((Pushing this just slightly ahead of Josh and company to time it better))

Kadoria handed the guard her playing invitation and a quick smile from her got instructions from the guard on how to get into place before they sat down to eat, it was technically sealed but as she was supposed to be there beforehand he let her through. Her skirts swishing about her ankles, she darted quickly through the doors, then the hallway, making it safely into the main room and began tuning her instrument.

There wasn't really much else to do if she wanted to make sure everything went well tonight, the question was wether to use spells or not. For now she wouldn't unless it turned ugly. It would be sheer honed skill.

When shadows linger on footpaths of stone
I will come for you, and take you back home
When harvest moons hang across the skyline
I'll walk beside you with your hand in mine

When darkness gathers the corners of time
I'll be your singer with verses of rhyme

For I am the one who remembers you
And I am the one you deny
I'll wait for you at the end of the rainbow
where the green meets the gold northern sky

Oh weary woman, your burden is brave
Oh weary man, it's your soul you must save
Plowing your furrow, together you stand
One gazing skyward, the other sees land

As the nobles would walk into the room, the quiet gently music would greet them, flowing over them, being quietly unobstrusive...as was Kadoria herself. She didn't exactly want the young Kaikou princling noticing her anyways. He had been distracted by 'saving' his sister as well as the fact she had been dressed as a boy so it wasn't likely he would even recongize her. Add to that her at the moment being a 'servant' in effect as well as a female in a long dress with her ebony hair flowing about her shoulders, the chance of any problems was almost nil.

Where are the dreams that you wished for in vain
Where are the promises made in your name?

For I am the one who remembers you
And I am the one you deny
I'll wait for you at the end of the rainbow
Where the green meets the gold northern sky

The ghosts of our fathers have nothing to say
As they roam through the streets at the end of each day
Their silence is deafening, like a cannon it roars
'Tis a cold comfort treaty that cannot end war.

For I am the one who remembers you
And I am the one you deny
I await for you at the end of the rainbow
Where the green meets the gold northern sky
Where the green meets the gold northern sky

Slifer began placing salt and pepper on the table in small pots. He added some sauces, quite a few were oriental yet others were western. As he moved his eyes looked up to spot the Bardress sit down and begin to sing. The music hit his ears like the gentle dawn chorus the birds sang in the forest. He smiled as he listened to the music, it was beautiful. As he finished laying down the sauces, salt and pepper he walked to lean against the wall like the other staff.

He slightly tapped his foot to the beat of the music, the words meaning much to him. As he closed his eyes the music seemed to take him away from this world, to the inner sanctum of his mind. He was peaceful, yet something compelled him to wake up, and stop listening to this. He opened his eyes to see the other staff looking at him oddly. He shook his head, holding him slightly. What had come over him, it must be his Neko side, that's what he blamed anything out of the ordinary on.

Slifer looked at the people looking at him. Maybe he shouldn't be here. He decided to leave, quickly he turned on his heels and moved toward the kitchen. The staff made a move to stop him but he quickly pulled his outfit off, revealing his proper clothes. He then ran off into the city. Free of the place he began to wonder around, hearing of a festival of light, he decided to travel toward there.

(( So overdue it's not funny. eek ))

"Oh?" Hikaru turned his head slightly to the side so tha the could look back over his shoulder, though continued on, not breaking step along the carpeted hallway which lead deeper into the building and towards the large, lighted opening in at the end which revealed the decorated dining room.

"I'm unsure of what you had expected of me tonight, but I would hate to have the evening begin under false pretenses," the Kaikou said cleanly, "There scribe may have made an error when translating the message, but I was not informed of any negotiations."

Stepping to the side, out of the hallway as it opened into the large dining room, the eastern prince bowed towards the westerners as they stepped out. "I appologize on behalf of my nation if you had come all this way with untrue assumptions."

Kenji followed behind them all, the last in the line that moved down the hallway. He had nothing to say to any of the westerners, and wha the had to say to Hikaru could be said in private. For tonight, he was not a friend of the prince, or the son of a noble, he was simply the Kaikou's bodyguard.

Serefina said nothing, simply looking for all pretenses as if a young girl who had nothing better to do then study the clothing of the stranger easterners. A fact her brother was probably grateful for at the moment. It wasn't that 'Fina didn't have a million and one questions, she was just too busy thinking of which one she would like to ask first if given the oppurtunity.

So the golden haired hellion simply walked behind her brother, her head slightly bowed as she waited to see how her brother would handle the oh so polite princeling, silently wishing this had been a more fun thing like a hunting party or somesuch, even if she would have to have pled harder to get permission to go. But the muttering escaped her lips anyways as she let her thoughts trail. "To think I wanted to come to this versus a hunting party...."
