I am so pissed off right now. My first day of school turned out to be the worst school day of my life. All my schedule plans are screwed and now I have barely any of the courses that I wanted.

I got a phone call in July about how my request for theatre arts wouldn't fit in with my schedule, so I had it changed to media studies. As far as I knew, that would be the end of it. I mean, she had just completed my schedule over the phone and I assumed no problems would arise.

So today, I get my schedule. And... What? I have two free periods? One in first semester and one in second. I'm not exactly allowed to have those.

That's the beginning. I had wanted both advanced maths and they bumped me to regular, when I have obviously achieved the marks needed and there are others in those classes that got 70s last year.

I also did not get the calculus course I wanted. And the media studies that I was supposed to get, I don't have either.

Lastly, I am taking Science 122. Prerequisites are chemistry 12 and physics 12, so I figured I'd need to take both of those first before I could take science. Turns out, I'll be having the advanced chemistry in the science 122 class before I even have chemistry. So there's another problem.

I went down to the guidance office to try to straighten things up during my "free" period and I had to fill out a form of course changes. Of course it didn't have everything I needed to write so I used the back. There were only a few courses free left in that third period and none of them were for grade twelve. What the hell? That means there isn't even anything I can take that period!

How could they screw up my schedule so badly that there is almost no way of fixing it? And how am I supposed to deal with it when all the courses I asked for were basically compulsory for me?

I needed that calculus because there is a high failure rate in university and I really wanted some beforehand background. There are people in that class that will never use it again and that's not fair. I'm going into a field in university that requires a lot of math which was why I needed the AP courses. And I can't have two damn free periods because when I go to university, they will see I only have 18 out of a possible 20 credits. Who are they going to choose first, someone that has 20 credits or someone that has 18? Plus you're not exactly allowed to have them. The school requires you have classes all day...

I don't know what I'm supposed to do tomorrow while I'm waiting around for all the problems to be fixed. I can't go to all these stupid classes for two weeks only to be switched out into new ones and have to make up all the work there.

Stupid teachers...

I'm semi-satisfied with my schedule.

I just found out today that my art teacher is autistic like me. She didn't say what type of autism she had, but it was probably Aspergers, because she could function and communicate.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! -clings- ;___; <3
My first day wasn't all too good either.
It turned out that the first bus I took changed scheduals. YESTERDAY.
So I ended up far away and had to switch two other buses.
So now, it takes me twenty more minutes to get there and twenty more to get back.
Other than that, they said they changed the schedual to let us have a longer lunch break. I compared the sheet with last years. IT'S THE EXACT SAME. 'Cept we have ten more minutes of school. >>
Bah, humbug.
But yours is so much more awful than mine.
I shouldn't complain. u___u <3
I'm sorry.
We love you.
Hope things work out. <3

There is an advanced english class that is in my free period this semester that wasn't on the free list but a friend said there weren't very many students there. So hoping I can switch my old english to there and then fit the calculus in the old english spot.

Leaves one freebie period and some crappy unadvanced maths, but I guess I can manage if I can get that calculus course...

Hopefully with the science thing, I can work it out.

They really should come up with a better way of organizing schedules in a school of 1800 kids.

Angel// That would suck =( -huggle- I got a drive home today becaus it was only a half a day. Have to get used to my bus again tomorrow ;_;

That's messed up. Bumping out of the classes you want and are qualified to take and giving you "free" classes instead. And those classes don't even give you college credit which is what you want.

Sorry I don't understand it much but I'm sad to hear your first day of school didn't go well. I hope it gets better for you!!!! <3

On the bright side at least you're not moving to another school...unlike me. :,[

Claireh sad That sucks. -cuddles-

But I will tell you something.

Starting a new school in high school isn't really all that bad. I'm super shy and I moved 2 hours away from my old place to start high school where I'm living now. && I found a lot of friends that I'm so happy to have now. smile

Aww Twisteh! -hugs-

I'm lucky. I've never had any schedule problems. And also I'm getting two highschool credits this year in 8th grade but I'm still required to get 4 classes of Math and 1 of a foreign language

And I really hope you get everything sorted out. <3

Do you by chance live in Pennsylvania? LOL. I do, and PA schools are infamous for this sort of malarky. I once went to Bentworth High School, and they screwed me over sooooo bad, I completely gave up my will for achievement. *sighs* Sounds stupid, I know. But what are you going to do, when you are an overachiever stuck in general classes you didn't apply for?

all you can do is sit back and have a good laugh for a bit...

when I was in my senior year (I had already taken algebra 3-4, and needed just 1 more math credit to graduate) they decided it would be a good idea to put me in pre-algebra instead of pre-calculus.... rofl

I spent less than 3 days in that class, and the rest as a free period or copy girl for the math wing... if I mess with my schedule I would've had to take remedial senior english, as well as lose all my arts/music classes, and have to take both econimics and goverment in summer school... which I really didn't want to do.

so because my school counselor f-ed up... I didn't get my core 40 score... so couldn't graduate with those honors...

in essence.. he ruined my chance of getting financial aid... sad

hence why I still haven't gone to college... I will, just gotta wait another year for FASFA to recognize me as "independant" mad

That sounds pretty screwy. Hope they'll sort it out for you soon. I always find that threatening to leave means problems magically get sorted. Works best for getting upgraded in Hotels, but I don't see why School shouldn't work too
