Well my last name is not Irish but it means Count(like a Count not like to count #'s).

My mother maiden name was Cowan and which is a gaelic name.
Its meaning is "hollow in the hill".

Not sure since I have a Irish in me on my Granda's side and I also have scottish from my dad. My current name is Blanton which is Scottish. I'm not sure of the meaning but my coat of arms under this name is Coat of Arms: Red with an gold imperial crown superimposed over a silver cross.
