Heraldry: conistancy/grief (black background), fire (white zig-zag horozontal band) Honour(horozontal band- signifies the military belt), hope/joy (3 cinquefoil plants), and wise defense (helmet atop sheild)

Well my last name is not Irish but it means Count(like a Count not like to count #'s).

Some of my Irish family names are
Ryan= Little King
Kelly= question Does anybody know what this means?
Rafferty= question anyone know?

according to Irishsurnames.com
The name Rafferty in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic O'Raithbheartaigh Sept that was located in Counties Tyrone and Louth and where the majority of descendants still hail from. The name is taken from Gaelic words that translate as 'prosperity wielder'

well my familys last name is scotish--Gunn-- it means war and our motto is--aut pax, aut bellum--either peace or war
My moms name is noonan im not sure about its meaning though.

My mother maiden name was Cowan and which is a gaelic name.
Its meaning is "hollow in the hill".

Not sure since I have a Irish in me on my Granda's side and I also have scottish from my dad. My current name is Blanton which is Scottish. I'm not sure of the meaning but my coat of arms under this name is Coat of Arms: Red with an gold imperial crown superimposed over a silver cross.
