Well I noticed there was a thread of Daphne vs. Rosario, and was curious as to how people feel about Fredi and Tracie. In songs where Joanne really gets to sing, such as Tango: Maureen and Take Me Or Leave Me. Who do you prefer?
I myself prefer Tracie's voice over Fredi's when it comes to the singing, but I think Fredi does just an amazing of a job.

I liked them both, but in different ways. But I have to admit that I was pretty confused when I saw pictures of Fredi's Joanne wearing a flowered dress, as I've always pictured Joanne as kind of a butch or a tomboy

I haven't heard much of Fredi, but...
She sounds like a man.
And I don't like it.

Tracie's waaay better, from what I've gathered.
Plus Tracie just has a much stronger voice.

So if you care to find me,
look to the Western sky... In listening to Goodbye Love, I really like Tracie better. She sounds more passionate about the situation.
She seems to have more power than Fredi as well... As someone told me lately,
everyone deserves a chance to fly

you gotta realize Freddi does the show nonstop while dancing. Tracie was in a studio.

Fredi recorded in a studio as well =)
I'm torn between these two. I think I understood Traci's character a bit more, but I love both of their voices. And traci sometimes came off as a bit emotionless to me.
My favourite has to be Nicole Lewis, though, who I saw live at the Nederlander. I really didn't appreciate Joanne's character until I saw Nicole's portrayal.

I think they both did a wonderful job portraying joanne but i like listening to Tracie's voice more than Freddi's.
In my head, Joanne looks like Freddi's Joanne, not Tracies. It's funny, because i've seen the movie loads of times and only ever seen pictures and videos on youtube of the obc.

I don't know. Fredi had a fabulous voice, but I'd have to go with Tracie. She seems a bit more feminine (which i €feel doesn't suit the character), but when she sings or has emotion, I am blown away.

I like them both. But Tracie's voice is better to me. But Fredi did really good dancing when I saw The Tango:Maureen on youtube. it was AWESOME!!!
